Bet there were some pretty interesting Sunderland attendances in the 1986-7 season judging by their average attendance then.
Don't know where to get the data. Weren't Sunderland's average attendances 15,000 or something that season? So the original poster is being a bit hypocritical having a go at Newcastle fans for having poor attendances in the 80s when Sunderland were no different themselves.
That's Sunderland fans for ya, when they beat us 2-1 at St James 2 years running, they were singing 'we beat the scum 2-1' 5 years after the games.
Oops, thought you were a Sunderland fan - being from Durham and that - hence why I said "your attendances" in my post. Will edit it to make it clearer.
I used to go to a chippy in Prudhoe when I was a kid and my folks used to go gliding at Hedley (Currock Hill) they did great beanies, can't get beanies down south. Do they still do them back home?
