Actually, it says that we took up his contract which released them from paying 40k a week. It's quite possible that we negotiated a revised salary with the player before signing him up.

I missed that bit somehow, sorry. I still call it dubious, but maybe we thought he'd come good.

It can't possibly be true, can it? Hell how would we agree to this? Doesn't sound right to me, Huw would have blown a gasket for that sort of wages for a duffer, and lets be honest even we new he was a duffer before he came here!.................<ok>

I thought it was common knowledge that he was on at least £35k a week. He really was an awful signing, and pretty much everyone could see that when we were first linked with him. Baffling signing

Dai, this is a thread about NGog, no need to be anti Laudrup and insulting towards him in this thread.

Vetch, Lurkey, I've deleted his post so have deleted yours along with it to keep the thread on track.

Valley,no problem you removed my post, but I would urge vigilance with regards Dai's constant anti Laudrup postings.

He brings nothing but emnity to this forum.

Criticism, and not liking someone is acceptable, but he has taken it to a new level.

My response to Dai does not place me in an anti Monk camp, far from it,but I am not able to stand by while he besmirches Laudrup so blatantly.

N gog was one of those players ,and we have had a few that good have been great for us, dyer, monk, routs people that wernt thought of that highly until they made their name with us.

So I understand the logic in the signing, a fresh chance for n gog to impress with a clean slate and he has un doubted talent too, it was a wild card signing that didn't come off and along with the emnes signing I suported it as it was low risk in terms of contract.

Some you win some you lose, like Alvaro and shector it didn't pay off but on the other hand we signed the likes of amat Chico, routs, michu and poz for peanuts and they have done great.

No doubt in ,y mind that it was the board that signed him, I think laudrup was quoted as saying he didn't know much about him so that tells you a lot !

N gog was cover with a chance to make an impression to win a contract all things considered it was a gamble worth taking, you dont get to Liverpool by being a total dummy on the football field so there is clearly talent there somewhere.

Onwards and upwards,he didn't take his chance like emnes did but in fairness he didn't even get a chance, maybe he tried in training but didn't get in front of dyer etc we must also remember that he was signed just as everyone was getting fit or was fit !

So you can't say too much about it all really.

35k a week is what I was told, but I don't know if Bolton were subsidizing some of it,I suspect they were chipping in with a few quid myself .

It's is strange to think of some of our posters as being pro laudrup or anti monk or vice versa I'm 100% certain that most people here are 100% pro Swansea city fc !

If we never thought that way we would never bother venturing onto the Internet and onto message boards in the first place !

I loved laudrup, thought we missed a trick in managing that situation long term, something went tits up big time that's for sure, i didn't want monk in the job myself but I'm happy to see him have a go if that's what the board think is the best option.

A few good signings in the summer and we will be raring to go for the new season ;)

I don't know why you took my comment so personally. I just think it's funny how your board apparently went over your managers head to get a player that was struggling to score in the championship, and was on £40k a week?!

And I think it's funny you're in the Championship. <laugh>

Agree with your post Norway. The Laudrup / Monk thing has been divisive but ultimately we have no say in the matter and the Board (or more accurately SCFC) will live or die by its decision to appoint Monk. As you rightly say we're all pro Swansea City apart from the occasional interloper.

Heard a completely unsubstantiated rumour that he and Canas were behind, or linked to, the recent leaks to the press regarding training ground bust ups. Only if they're sold this summer, will I believe it to be true.
