  2. A condition of him leaving (whether its £40m or £60m) will be him handing in a transfer request. We have made it perfectly clear we do not want to sell <ok>

So much **** in the media. Chinese bloody whispers.

For objective journalism Reuters is usually pretty good:

MELBOURNE (Reuters) - Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard slotted a first-half goal and Iago Aspas a second in injury-time to secure a 2-0 win over Melbourne Victory but Luis Suarez hogged the limelight at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Wednesday.

Striker Suarez's commitment to the Merseyside club remains in doubt, and a mammoth red-clad crowd of 95,446 grew restless as the Uruguayan cooled his heels on the bench deep into the second half.

Yet his appearance in the 72nd minute among a raft of substitutions sparked a deafening roar from the terraces, and fans left the hulking coliseum happy after watching the 26-year-old set up the second goal with typical trickery.

Suarez, second top scorer in the Premier League with 23 goals last season, has said he wants to leave Liverpool to play in Spain, blaming the British media for making his life impossible in England.

But despite the heated speculation over his future, he joined up with his team mates in Australia, with his coach Brendan Rodgers playing down talk of a move.

While Suarez dominated the leadup, it was his captain generating the highlights early on a chilly night at the MCG.

Gerrard charged into the area to finish a pinpoint through ball from Joe Allen into the right corner in the 32nd minute after starting the move with an inspired back-heel in midfield.

The Victory, a heavyweight in the local A-League competition, battled hard throughout and denied Liverpool a second goal until seconds before the close.

Suarez received a pass from a corner, darted into the area and effortlessly steered a low cross through heavy traffic to allow Aspas to tap home from close range.

he is not going to Arsenal. IMO

Yes, if he thinks he's getting his million loyalty bonus no matter the price he can think again. Right now that would upset me more than a knockdown sale price TBH.

And I love opposition fans literally making figures up out of thin air and saying we'll accept it.

We've said no to 35 million so that figures gone.

We've said no to 40 million so that figures gone.

Repeating these figures won't remove the fact we've refused them folks lol? On figures, the closest the club has come to stating one is saying he is currently in their view worth the same as recent sales of 55 million. Whether anyone agreed doesn't matter. We hold a 3 year contract and we have a team of top men.....top men.....working on it....not sure if its an army of lawyers or flying monkeys but top top people....

There that's it. Offer that or as it stands our club will say no. Suarez can go mental all he wants; I mean like it would be sooooo.... different dealing with moronic behaviour from this player wouldn't it? what's he going to do: refuse to play come September?

And going back to tapping up, if I was the FA I wouldn't be believing a story from arsenal that they put in such an exact bid of millions of pounds based on the transfer thread speculation of the press....and as we all know the FA doesn't need evidence.

  6. Couldn't agree more with this post.

If he refuses to play then we fine him two weeks wages. Some weeks we play more than once. It could turn into a nice little earner <laugh>

    Suarez/Arsenal talks:

A: We want to buy you for 40 million

S: That's lovely but LFC said no.

Those talks sure will be short.

Forgive me but I think it is pretty big news that we can actually talk to Suarez because we can try turn his head now which COULD make things difficult for you.

Also this is the first time there has ever really been an indication of what fee is required to make Liverpool sell. I do not see Madrid coughing up £50M for him.

Turn his head? He's been talking about getting out for six weeks! His head turns any more he could star in the exorcist!

In what way could he make it difficult for us? You haven't offered enough money. See my post for how long talks can last while that is the case. You can offer him a slide & a pony it doesn't matter unless you offer us what we've alluded is the price. What's he going to do refuse to play while er...banned, bite someone else and get a longer ban? He can put on his sad face all summer: we don't have any sympathy left for the bastard.

And that figure is the BBC figure. They've plucked it out of the air like you did with 45. And let's remember you are not going to pay us 50 million plus for him......we all know that.

In addition, it's WC year. I doubt he would be willing to risk upsetting us and being forced in the reserves.

  19. Same. Loyalty is one thing, honesty is another. He appears to be failing on both counts.

I don't have a problem with players wanting to leave to bigger and better clubs, or even for money.

I just want them to leave in dignity and with respect.
