We had the Comcast infrastructure put in in the 90s. Replacing the cables has been a piece of piss for virgin. Putting cables down for the first time is a right **** on and costly. They should bit the bullet and get them laid though.

I can't get cable or fibre in my building it deeply upsets me.

I'm using my 4G as a tether more and more cos when that occasionally works (02 customer, so rare but improving....) I get about 24mb, I get ****ing 6 tops through my broadband.

Depends what you mean by prices beyond belief, I'm tied down to an 18 month contract, 12 of them at £33 for the full package, inc multi screen with the 2nd Q box, then £22 for my sky fibre, which isn't the best but easily good enough for my house.

Could I walk away and get that deal from BT/Virgin? would I hell, BT would charge me £33 alone for Sky Sports.

They're also expected to be streaming/transmitting 4k later this year, I'm not sure where you're getting 18 months from.

Understandably everybody is different, but cos I've been loyal to Sky it makes every other deal look like ****, plus cos my mother in law is with BT for broadband, I take her BT Sport pack for nowt and have the rest bolted on for a fiver.

I pay £53 to Sky for basically everything, it doesn't bother me but I absolutely see why it would bother others. BT with BT sport starts from about £18 month, about £30 with phone and fibre.

Considering Sky show mainly the same teams, people will switch in my opinion, I'll stay with Sky until that time.

Sky advised me 18 months for 4K sports about a week ago when my Q receiver failed. They fixed that supremely efficiently by the way, I do say Sky service is usually superb.

We were supposed to get cable in our village this year but its all gone very quiet.

My skydish is screwed onto my garden fence because of a bloody big old oak tree in the garden that blocks the signal if it were on the house. Its a constant pain in the ass in high winds!

Their ipad Q app is a ****ing weapon as well on the go.

If that's the case I've been lied to about 4k, maybe they meant the movies. It'll give me a good excuse to beat them down on price next time though.

    Scottish ****s.

Not tried the app I'll have a look mate.

They may well have meant movies, they are filmed in 4K and as such Sky should have no issue streaming them through a Q box, but there's additional cost to license.

Sport, well Sky film their games and that means upgrading all of their cameras and equipment. There HD is superb anyway but the depth of 4K is staggering.

Sport or movies, you feel like you are actually there, it's just incredible. And already being improved again ha.

One thing I do like about BT sport is they have the UFC and they don't charge nisht extra for it.

200 is gonna be ****e though, Jon Jones has been pulled out cos of suspected banned substances, this is after McGregor v Aldo was pulled for him not attending a presser.

Brock 'part time' Lesnar is headlining UFC 200, somebody needs sacked.

I like the NBA as I think I've said before, BT had that including finals included, Italian league, French League, some random stuff as well.

Some great lower level Motorsport as well and some sports you don't see elsewhere, I think their sport game is very strong. Having UFC as you say is a great draw

Yeah, I watch the ligue 1 round up weekly now, on BT, plus they have all the European games, which is why I got it... although I didn't envisage it'd be for Europa games ffs.

There will come a day when you don't need both, they will be fully packaged with either, that will be the test.

BT are way ahead of Sky in product development right now though, of that there's no question.

    Buying EE was genius.

I don't have one. I have my android box, ps3, laptop and tablet which can all stream through the tv. Screw TV packages and those big ugly energy eating receivers. Got enough energy eating technology to get everything already.

They are rank like. But then they all are esp the ps3. I try to hide as much as possible.

I've just pre-ordered the new X-box one, cos I've always had beef with the fat xbox one, it looks like an old VHS player also.

I swear they make them look **** on the first edition, just so they can fleece you for a new one.

I've just ordered a One S. I've no idea if it's worth it but allegedly it uses half the energy of the standard One and graphics will be sharper.

Heard this all before of course...

    Overlapped Tel, ha.

4k DVD player for as little as £249... what's there to lose?

I might use the old one to knock the trees down with behind my house.
