Pellegrini v Guardiola: 0-1-8 after tonight. You would think Pellegrini has had some practice playing Pep, apparently not a qiuck learner.
I'd love to see a change in the rules whereby, if the offence is seen to be a foul preventing a clear goalscoring opportunity worthy of a straight red, then a penalty is given regardless of whether it took place inside the box or not. Although Bayern are down to ten men, there's little immediate advantage given the remaining time and the fact that Bayern can park a handful of big and very ugly men between the free-kick taker and the goal. The automatic ban that Boatface gets benefits Bayern's next opponents and not City too. Having said all that, it's difficult to judge and likely ridiculous... But I'd like to see all this cynicism result in goals conceded, not defensive walls. Of course a red card is a small price to pay right now.
Hoping to make a pre Christmas trip with one of the Blackburn or Leicester games in mind. I'll let you know.
Yep........it was a "professional" foul. He knew Ya ya was probably going to score. Such a shame Silver's free kick hit the bar! Not sure what the answer is tbh.
That's the one I would prefer too. An early title decider? Like the Cardiff game the year we went up with Adel's wonderful winner From the BBC: SUBSTITUTION - Manchester City 1-3 Bayern Munich Bayern make their final change of the night, bringing on Mario Gotze for Franck Ribery. By the way, Bastian Schweinsteiger was given a standing ovation by City supporters when he was replaced earlier. Nice gesture, credit to English fans as they are excellent at acknowledging good display by their opponents
Yep............last night the Celtic fans gave Iniesta the same. Booed every touch by Naymar though after his dramatics!
Yep......Barca are always at it too. As if they need to eh? Well........it appears that I'm on a promise tonight, so I'm off!! Night all.
Ive always said that, remove the red card for a pro foul and give a penalty, red cards usually ruin a match and Im sure the other team would prefer it too. Also get rid of the red card and penalty so players wont dive when they could have scored. Football rules are screwed, a physio came on to the pitch and made two goal line clearances and there was nothing the ref could do, no goal, no penalty and the result stood. In ice hockey a goal can be awarded if a player is hauled down on the way to an empty net or a stick is thrown to prevent the puck going in. So theres no benefit in cheating that way.
To be fair, it must be hard to play against teams that have cattle prods up their sleeves! please log in to view this image
This made me smile Manchester City defender Micah Richards: "We knew they were a really good team and they showed that. That is why they are champions. "They didn't play with a striker and there was so much movement. It felt like they had an extra man and I wish them all the best. Hopefully we can now improve. We tried, there were some tired legs out there but we can do better than that." Sorry mate, couldn't help myself posting.
Neymar is a talented young lad and has great technique. But he's also a diving cheating cnut, and that's the reason I'd love to see him fail miserably in Barca, be sent back to Brazil and never hear from him again.
Yes, no connection to his face, yet he goes down like a sack of potatoes? What was the outcome of that "non" confrontation (yellow, red?).
