This is an awful awful performance from city, I don't care how good Bayern are. When In possession there's zero movement off the ball from City. This means no passing options, and the man in possession inevitably goes for something that's "not on". Then possession is conceded, + Bayern attack again. City's defence hasn't even been that bad for vast swathes of the match, but even the best defence in the world is gona concede if the opponent gets 75% possession. I'm gona stick my neck out and say the QPR team that turned up on Saturday would've done a better job than this. At least everyone moved and was willing to receive the ball...
Muller is a forward mate. He's playing deeper than normal, but this isn't 6 midfielders. I WON'T BE WRONG ON FORMATIONS!!!!
No prob mate. He is often their outlet, the pivot of the front three in midfield. Tonight Robben has moved into the centre and Muller has gone to the right. Like for the second goal, Robben drifting into the center and Muller running in from the right, totally outplaying Clichy in the process. It is the famous "false nine" deployed tonight. I hate both that word and the use this tactic. But it's Guardiola's favourite, a position Gotze is planned to play in.
I find it hilarious. Gone are the days that my default position was to support the English team on such occasions. Overpaid, over-confident and overrated bunch of mercenaries led by a manager apparently with the tactical nous of my fat sister.
BTW.........is that Jesus Navas bloke the most over-rated player ever?!! Oh look......he now brings on Silver and takes off a forward. Horse has long bolted!!
I second that - would give the flapper a run for his money and solve our financial burden. Perhaps Pellegrini should see if the Pelican is available to help him out? He has that Mark Hughes, Dave Jones, Arsene Wenger look about him. please log in to view this image
Please don't kill me next time we meet?! If it makes you sleep better I'll agree Muller is a forward tonight
Yeah..........I'm looking for it now and see what you mean. Very clever stuff, but Pelican man has been terribly naive.
Oh look..................Silver comes on, they have more men in midfield and they've scored!! Well I never!
Yes indeed. Guardiola got his substitutions wrong, very complacent. But who can blame him to be fair.
**** me............what a game this football is. City could have been level after the Silver free kick and that header from Negredo. (All since he changed formation mind!!).
Leaving Negredo on the bench is like us putting Austin there with no fit strikers to put in. Silva must be down to match fitness I guess. Both should start every game imo.
