How is it looking up? Surely a rival would be a team who are fighting for a place toe to toe with you (take note west ham). If we were mid table and giving it large while Arsenal were 3rd because they lost to wigan then yes it would seem like we are looking up but we've been fighting for CL places for 3 seasons running so they are a rival. Anyway, past season and a bit I've loved seeing Liverpool lose and they aren't our rivals
You lot have a QRR away next. They have won their last three home games and are probably going to need a win if they have any chance of staying up, because their away form is utter ****. That will not easy game, imo that is more difficult than Stoke away. Everything is on the line in this next few weeks. 4 teams going for 2 spots. Something dramatic is going to happen. I can feel it.
I can almost see Zamora and Taarabt so up for getting one over us, it gets in their way of actually being able to do so. OK, maybe Taarabt, Zamora could go either way...
Further inspection of our board and you'll find our very own thread on this very subject, some doubting ourselves too , so there wasn't any need to post this.
i,m not doubting us,i think we will win!,even with Mackie in their side who was with Sutton a while back
I only read this one,as it was about Arsenal as well. So, while I was here, I posted it because our game with Chelsea is in the same round of fixtures as you against QPR.
I said to a mate last week that no fans of top 4 or 5 teams can feel all that confident at the moment. Maybe Newcastle fans can but us,both Manchesters,Goons and Chavs have all slipped up recently and who knows what will happen? I don't know who Arsenal have to play yet but after losing at home can they be confident of anything? Chelsea must have AVB's performances still on their minds and Man U slipped up against Wigan. I know I don't feel at all confident with our last 4 matches. I just wish we would get three much needed points.
at times i would rather we had a crap team and our expectations were low, as its no fun supporting a club you love that has some great players and a manager you want to succeed that threaten to success and then crash, im just hoping the team can find some sort of form and get some points as thats all we need!
We wouldn't want a team with low expectations Boss, where would the fun be and the striving for standards? I want us to be as successful as the other top teams have been and the anticipation of this is an adrenalin rush. I just wish that we could find confident strikers like Klinnsman then our problems would be solved. I'm not totally taken with 'arry anymore. He started off brilliantly but he's never really had staying power which is why i think that he might be good for England in the short term and we can get the man who wants us and that's Bilic.
its just the frustrated part of me speaking, in the sense when your constantly see the club fail it does feel like a real kick in the teeth, its more to do with the way we fail as while winning is great, ive enjoyed supporting this club as much when we have been utter crap, like the days of jason dozzell to when we have had excitement round the lane like the days of klinsmann. the way we fail seems to be constant, fall flat on our faces, over powered, out fought and that is what is depressing, if we could just make a fight of it then we can still keep our heads high and at least say we went for it.
I don't even remember Dozzell. The op started by saying "Thank you Arsenal for bottling it" Just what have they bottled? We've bottled a 13 point lead and just because Arsenal have lost one doesn't mean to say that they've bottled it,where's the logic? Nobody expected us to bottle that lead so Arsenal haven't bottled anything.
bottling is over used! its usually when a result means "if" as in "if they win, they go" whatever number of points clear but in reality wigan at the moment are playing some of the best football in the league and done a job on arsenal. also, i wouldnt say we bottled anything, we just had too high expectations for the team and a manager who couldnt deliver them expectations as we cant progress on what arry has already done at the club. we havent beaten a team in the top half away this season and that is pretty pathetic for a team that was at point being called title challengers by most of the country. I and most fans got carried away by our form but the way we have crashed is disappointing as i expected us to drop points but not go one such a crap run and get thumped by our rivals!
Worse thing about it is that our rivals keep winning. No,I didn't expect such a crap run in the league but I was never totally happy with our cup run. We struggled to overcome Stevenage and Cheltenham and Watford were stuttering performances so I didn't expect us to get past a resurgent but lucky Chelsea. I did not expect that thrashing though,I thought a one goal defeat. I just wish 'arry had put out stronger teams in the Europa, winning anything is better than nothing at all.
Not been on here in a while because of the recent poor form - hiding could be the word. Still think we will finish 3rd a win this weekend will put pressure on the goons for the first time this season.
Doing well in the Europa League might've actually benefited our league campaign, though. Being able to call upon fit and happy back-up players at this point would be extremely useful. For all the talk of Redknapp's superior man management skills, I'm not convinced. He can get the XI out on the pitch to put in performances which are often at 100% of their abilities, which is extremely admirable, but if you're not starting then he seems to freeze you out. How many of our squad players seem disillusioned, put in ****e performances and then want to leave? Pienaar's return to form at Everton is probably the best case in point.
I don't think we'll finish top 4, and I think the sooner Harry goes the better. It's been good, it's been emotional, now it's time to say goodbye. I hope next year we give the Europa League a proper go.
