"I think the boy Carroll falls into this category."

True or not, Spurs still need the boy to toughen up for the role envisaged for him.
Which is one of the reasons he is on loan.

Assou-Ekotto's been congratulating Spurs and Adebayor whilst having a dig at Villas-Boas again, rather unsurprisingly:

He's probably right, but it's not very professional, is it?

No need for it, he's like a bitter little schoolboy.

BAE once again shows why he is on loan to the league below.

  5. Another excuse for him to get a slagging off on here I guess.

Ambiguous as to whether a direct rebuff to AVB. Otherwise, a totally positive comment from a Spurs perspective and the sort of thing we - the fans - would say on here. But in the current climate, probably should avoid any tweeting that could be construed as a slight on our beloved former leader!!

I don't have a problem with him stating the obvious.

Same. Really can't understand why some fans seem to have it in for Benny these days.

Fans don't have it in for Benny. Fans are just responding to his immature tweets. He may point out the obvious at times but he won't have a future at the club while Sherwood is manager if he carries on.

If he wants to spend his career tweeting and making sarcastic remarks that's his call but his behaviour isn't professional.

Exactly. If you were the manager and you had the choice, would you make the decision to recall a player that might go on to slag you off publicly if you don't pick him or his mates?
It annoys me because we need another left-back and he's clearly good enough on the pitch, but I can understand why Sherwood doesn't want him in the squad.

  11. Certain 'fans' DO have it in for Benny - as the double standards that are being applied to Ade prove.
Their respective misdemeanours are linked, but whereas Ade, despite being accused of openly delaying his return to the squad and/or not trying when on the pitch, has been welcomed back like the 2nd Coming, all Benny has done is make a few poorly judged Tweets - despite having given 100% for our club on the pitch for 7 years.

Amazing what effect a couple of goals makes to some peoples sensibilities....... <doh>

And yes, we do need a decent LB as soon as possible - so surely Sherwood should be clever enough to at least try and rehabilitate Benny back into the fold.

    AVB is gone.
So on paper to ensure a recall it should just be a matter of having put in consistent performances
at the loan club, and give out the signals that anything relating to the previous antics are now gone.
The Twatter stuff hardly does the latter, does it.

Adebayor is being welcomed back for his performances but as per the comments no one has changed their views on his actions.
I've noticed some fans have it in for Rose. Funny that them same fans want Benny back.

So if we're talking of double standards then let's keep it consistent.

As for Sherwood needing to recall Benny. He doesn't agree so unfortunately that's case closed until Benny proves it should be reopened.

  14. Even if taken at its worst, which is by no means clear, it (the twitter stuff) is hardly a hanging offence!!!

  15. I have highlighted that if Benny had made the **** ups that Rose has done in recent games he would have been castigated to the enth degree. And I had only drawn the comparison in answer to another poster who thought that Rose was a better LB than Benny to start with........ <doh>

And on Ade, he is only still in the fold because Soldado has not delivered.
The current coaches obviously put the striker situation higher up the list than LB (even
though we all agree the squad LB situation has been quite a shambles) .

All Benny has to do is knuckle down, perform for QPR, stop tweeting immature things and he can find his way back, and he isn't hated! I certainly don't have it in for him and all fans want is for players to show professional behaviour!

Maybe you should tweet him! :p

I won't argue that it's unprofessional, but the way some people go on here it's like they want him hanged for treason.

In an ideal world yes he should keep his mouth shut and work his way back. But I can understand his actions based on what I know about the reasons for him being exiled in the first place, which was a petty dictatorial rule and bad man management by AVB. I'm sure at least some people here have been unfortunate enough to meet that type of manager in their own jobs, I know I have and I f**king hate them. Usually the reason why they focus on the petty rules is because they're bloody useless at actual real management.

Right or not, in Benny's position I'd be very tempted to gloat as well. Even if you disagree with him doing that surely it's not a hanging offence.

I'd be happiest to have both Danny Rose and Benny both competing for a place. Benny is a happy-go-lucky type of character, I don't see a lot wrong with that.

I like to work in a happy office and sometimes play the fool. It doesn't make me any less capable of being an engineer. Some people think you have to be miserable at work to be professional, I don't. I think people work better if they enjoy being there.
