When,Blackburn did indeed give us a "right going over",and my comment was partly based on that fact.
Because your team wins a Cup tie,it "prove"s nothing.
Blackburn, hopefully, will survive the drop,as I think they are too good to go down.

vetch, there was no arrogance from my original post, but dont you think the fact that they've got 25 from 28 matches proves they arent very good by PL standards? 6 wins from 28?

i did predict earlier in the season that they would survive when kean was getting tremendous stick from everyone on not 606 and the media, but i'd back swansea to turn them over on current form..

Makes me laugh that some Swans fans reckon this Premier League lark is sooooo easy because other teams are ****. No surprise that Cardiff fans agree. Their board has been littered with comments like 'worse standard in years' and so on. Imo both sets of fans are doing us down if they believe that.

Because we are better than most teams in the Prem - and we are - that doesn't mean the standard is poor overall. It just means we are that good!

The style of play some teams play may not be to our taste but the pace of the game coupled with some jaw-dropping passes and sensational goals does make it one of the best leagues in the world, if not the best. Take yesterday's game between Newcastle and Norwich. Both teams weren't great on the day but a world class cross from Guttierrez and an even better outside-of-the-boot finish from Cisse would grace any game in any top league in the world.

I watch La Liga a bit and although technically superior the game is always stop-start because of the disgraceful simulation that goes on which their officials have also bought into, despite the rules. Frankly, you can keep it.

So believe all the bull if you want. Fact is, the Swans are doing remarkably well in a league that is a true global brand for a reason and it's not just hype and marketing.

I dont think anybody said this league was easy KJ, IMO i felt that there were teams that we played against like Sunderland and Aston villa that were pretty average at best, people were saying things like "villa will be a top 8 club" and "sunderland are a great team" well, i didnt really see it that way, TBH what i saw was a team of cloggers (villa) and a team that was workman like and scored 2 special/lucky goals, we wernt totally out played by them and they rarely took us apart.

We are treading in unknown teritory in this league, or at least we were, and of course we look at the names of these teams, the history they have and the wages they pay and we think," wow thats gonna be a hard game" but the truth is that alot of these teams are still dining out on past glory and are bloated with over paid players that think they are special while actually doing very little for their money. Alot couldn't trap a bag of cement !

Maybe im wrong and we have been a flash in the pan and next season we will get our asses handed to us, but i honestly dont see the likes of Villa being a better team than us at present, they are a massive and fantastic club steeped in History but you could say the same about Leeds, sheff wed, sheff utd, west ham, notts forest etc etc. all now floating around the lower leagues! I hope it doesnt sound arrogant saying this, its not my intention to come across that way and im not thinking all of a sudden swans are the best thing since sliced bread but lets be truthful..

In all the games us jacks have seen this year, how many times have you been impressed with the 70k (and upwards) players and the clubs that are premier league regulars ??

I cant think of many players ive seen that have blown me away apart fom van persie, kabul and akkoto(spurs) Hart was an impressive keeper, ya ya toure was a monster in the first game along with agearo and there's not much else that really stood out or spring to mind as i write this. the best teams ive seen were Wigan (at home, first game) and Fulham(at home too) Mancity( first game )

Notice that i found the teams most impressive were the ones we played when trying to find our feet? Once we settled the massive gulf seemed to shrink, i dont beleive the Premier League is poor but i do think that a team like Swansea shouldn't really be pushing for Europe in its first season and playing teams off the park week after week!! something dont add up !!

Maybe we are witnessing the greatest David and Goliath the world has ever seen, or maybe alot of these teams arnt as good as they think they are! maybe a little bit of both!

I've always maintained that the Premiership is over rated, and nobody will convince me otherwise, as was the old first Division in the Toshack era, and like then we have acquitted ourselves well in the first season. That said it's clear that the bottom half teams are particularly poor this season, maybe last season as well, but that has no bearing on Swansea's success, as we have shown that we are as good a football side as any in the top half, and while there are those Bluebirds that seem to take comfort in making a point about the poor quality this season, they obviously ignore the results we have had against the bigger sides at the top, and obviously next season will improve with, Southampton and West Ham coming up. I've always looked at the likes of Wigan, Wolves, Bolton, WBA, Birmingham, Blackburn as mediocrity in football terms, and this season has certainly endorsed that in my view.

Of course it's a tougher place than the Championship, but I think we will only get better from here on in, as our boys realise they are equal to the opposition top or bottom, and it is an acknowledged fact by many observers that the gulf between Championship and Premiership has been closing for some seasons now, and that's an endorsement of how good the Championship has become, so finally, none of this takes anything away from what Swansea city have achieved, and will continue to do, as the season closes!................

Wigan are actually a good footballing side that play the right way by and large. Their undoing is Bobby's inability to organise a decent defence.

    Didn't last long Norway!................. <laugh>

Knackered that's a bit of a contradiction actually, Wigan being a good football side, and at the same time propping up the table! but in some respects they are a good side, but if you can't defend, and can't hit the barn door with the proverbial banjo then what's the point of being a good football side? ............. <ok>

I think Blackburn and Bolton will not go down now.

Great to know it's not our team name that is being mentioned for relegation. That, I love.

Due to the unfortunate Muamba episode, Bolton may be starting a fixture pile-up with an unfinished cup-tie and postponed Premier league games. Bit of a double whammy as far as they're concerned.

They'll only be a game or two behind. Can't really call it a pile up, aswan.

Pleased that Blackburn beat Sunderland because it keeps the Mackems behind us with the same number of games played. Not really looking at relegation now, just hoping the teams around us start losing to protect our current lofty position. Everton could do us a favour by losing/drawing tonight and, if we beat them on Saturday, there'll be some clear water between us and them in the table.

I have tasted success courtesy of our Super Swans and I'm greedy for more. How great would it be if we extended our run and entrenched ourselves in the upper echelons of this Division? It would so confound our early season critics and, as Hansen (been very supportive throughout) said, there's not many people betting against us getting a big scalp away from home this season. How wonderful would it be if that was Man Utd with us having a say as to which team became Champions? Now that would really reverberate around the world.

I'd just love us to beat QPR! My spread bet is between 47 and 52 points
