    22 years old and scored 24 goals as his team got promoted to the Premier League then scored 15 goals before February in the Premier League before getting first England cap on the back of it. A £35 million stiker?

    I heard on Radio 5 Monday night that not many months ago, Newcastle were inviting offers for Carroll in the region of £1.25m. Was a sellers market on Monday where Carroll, Newcastle and Liverpool were concerned, for the same reasons Chelsea paid £50m for the Spanish Lad. If you're not in the Champions League you miss out on anywhere up to £75m.

    It was the summer before the season they got promoted in the article i saw. He hadn't done a lot at that point.
