I messed up in life - big time. I let my daughter down and I had her holiday in Jamaica cancelled just 3 weeks before we were due to fly.

I've fought my way back from that and have everything in place now to build a very good life. What I done to the bairn has been in my mind every day though and I cannot shrug it off. It's the only thing that holds me back in life.

I'm now sat on the train going to Manchester and we fly out to Jamaica, in the morning. I feel like I've come full circle and finally I'm about to put that nightmare to bed.

I thought after my suicide attempt that was it. Life would be **** and I'd struggle all the time. Well I've just finished renovating my house, my shop and website open in 4 weeks and I'm about to spend two weeks in the Caribbean with the youngun. Never give up in life, there's always hope. I'm walking, talking, living proof of that. Which is why me and the bairn will have season tickets next year. We will bounce back and I want to be there to go through that too.

Great news!!! Have a fantastic time and enjoy....hopefully some of your marvelous comeback will rub off on our team....

Fair play fella, as you already know I'm well chuffed for you <hug>

Anyone on here who has spoken to you for a decent period of time will know you're a good bloke mate , we all make mistakes but it's the sign of a good person with strong character that can acknowledge that and then use it to improve themselves.

Reminds me of one of my favourite sayings...

A man shouldn't be judged by how many times he falls over, but by how many times he gets back up <ok>

I have so much respect for you mate. Well done you should be very proud of yourself.

Ive also hit rock bottom and i have the potential to do it again at the drop of a hat. Ive had a depressive mind since my mid 30s but my boys keep me strong. If it wasnt for them i dread to think where id be now.

I'm honestly truly chuffed for you mate.

I remember some of those dark days that you posted on here.

Awesome to see you come through the other side and still have your daughter by your side.

You guys have one hell of a holiday, then come back and kick your new business into gear.

And don't forget what you said about that event you told me about. I'm away for 5 days around mid-September but let me know the date you've got in mind.

I come back on Saturday, it's been a blast. The highlight for me was holding a 3 year old crocodile and flying down the mountain on a Jamaican bobsled. Sammie loved the horse riding through the countryside and into the sea for a swim.

I held her 3 year old daughter. Not for too long though!
