I'm sitting on the fence about to fall in the 'no' garden, I'll have to hear a good 'for' argument, but havn't voted yet. 3 car teams would lock out Lotus, HRT & Vitgin for sure, they probably wouldn't make it through Pre-Qualifying (which would be needed of course, so that is a bit of a positive). That leaves Renault, STR, FI, Sauber & Williams to fight for up to 11 slots. The field would possibly be more competitve all through, but scoring points for these teams is going to be very difficult, even Mercedes will be hard pushed to get 2 scoring positions, as excluding a result of one of the cars has to be a non starter, all points to the WCC or there will be 'go slow and sabotage'.
Would it be 'soul-destroying' to see a dominant RBR with 3 drivers out there? Imagine 88,89,90 if McLaren had had 3 cars, the other driven by mansell, Piquet or Alesi? What's made the 'RBR' dominance boring has been the total lack of challenge from Webber, who isn't, or ever was, in the same league as Vettel, last season was a case of reliability for Seb, and he still won it. It's not RBR who've been dominant this year, it's been Vettel, Button has had more wins than webber has had 2nds. Hamilton, who is having a nightmare season, is just 19 points behind him.

I think there needs to be more testing allowed for teams that score less than 10 points in a season. The 3 teams at the back have had almost no testing, everyone else got to test for years prior to the ban, and that knowledge and technical feedback has not been wiped from existence.

As to Ferrari, it wouldn't bother me in the slightest if they quit, in fact I hope the FIA has the bollocks to call their bluff and say, quite publicly' "OK Ferrari, quit F1 then if you don;t like the rules", it would be a PR disaster for Ferrari, and F1 really needs smeone to stand up against the big teams. What would happen if Mclaren and Ferrari quit? well Jenson, Lewis and Alonso would find other seats and we'd have a field of 20 for a while, everyone would still watch, even the Italians, they just wouldn't be called the Tifosi anymore. Ferrari need Ferrari in F1, but no-one else does

Well Silver, we are agreed Ferrari are already in a favourable position relative to all other teams. The reason why they also already have more power is not the point; it is more that a governing body which panders to their demands obviously gives them yet more power, which cannot be good for competition.

I totally agree Miggins. In many ways, I believe F1 would become a lot healthier without them but there is no way Ferrari would be healthier without F1! It's time the FIA turned the tables on the favoured team and require them to play by the same rules (politically) as everyone else. Ferrari's arrogance needs sorting out once and for all; and if I had my way (rather than Todt), I would gladly put your message on the table in front of di Montezemolo and tell him to go play politics with Italy if he didn't like it.

    Ooh, hang on a sec'…

They could always give 3 cars to everyone but the top 3 in the WCC (just for practices) to test out new drivers and stuff like that. Like they used to.

Would really not like this, just does not sit well...
    Kimi-Nico-MSC would be fantastic though.
