    Hull Brunswick were one of the top amateur teams in the early 60's in Hull. Gerry Ingram played for them, City wouldnt sign him cos he was seen as a bit of a boozer (they were right). Then Blackpool came in for him.

    Wasn't that Brunswick based on Brunswick Methodist, up Holderness High Road, opposite Four-in-Hand?

    It was indeed. Both were long thin single bars. All the hacks from the HDM (when it was based on Jameson Street) used to be in those two pubs around 4.30-5.00pm. In those days of course, it was limited opening hours, and so it was via the 'back door' for those in the know!
