I'm not convinced that they can't both be used, especially at home against a side that's not going to dominate the midfield. I'd have preferred to see Sandro and van der Vaart start in the middle, with Sigurdsson playing up behind the striker. Two holding midfielders simply doesn't work for us and I'm struggling to remember us getting a positive result with that system, though I could well be wrong.
AS I said before the game I would have played Siggy instead of Jake, however that's just one of several problems we had yesterday. From the keeper to the lone striker the team was weak in key areas and it allowed WBA to nick a point. Last year we got four points from the corresponding fixture, just one this season is poor. Now we have a chance to catch up against Norwich, will we take it? We need players in by Tuesday, not Friday night or whenever deadline day is.
Mate of mine(not a supporter) observed that they didn't look fit, hence why some tired so early on. I have to admit that I haven't noticed, anyone else?
That was my explanation for the two late goals--they were either exhausted or playing very stupidly. Exhaustion seems more likely.
