So pre-season is almost upon us and we still await the news on more signings. Not much time left if we are to get the two more hinted at by Nigel. Butland must be back now so will that be the next news?

How important do we think it is for new signings to get the whole pre-season in? These are all well paid professionals so they should be able to adapt quickly shouldnt they?

It's important for the same reason it's important for our current players to go through the whole thing.

Not important enough to forgo any more signings after that date though obviously!

It's not that important. Look at Hooiveld, he joined on deadline day and he was excellent almost straight away. Although I think his first game was against Forest where we were very shaky at the back, although, that may have been because Cork was at right back.

And that was loans deadline day, wasn't it..? So that's well into the season.

Can't see us bringing in two players before this date, wish he wouldn't say stuff like this..hopefully I'm proved wrong

Mind you, 11pm, Thursday night is hours over two days away, as I write. Being Saints, there could be some significant signings going on and we wouldn't have even a sniff of an idea until there was an announcement.

The previous spotting of the signing of Jay Rodriguez was an inspired piece of observation, backed up with some logical reasoning from the observer. Full marks to that person, but it was a one-off. Next time, I expect the news to be more tightly controlled.

Well I hope the next two Signings are a Defender and Goal Keeper.

Unnecessary capitalization. I don't care who we sign. For me, breaking our previous transfer record has already signaled the intent. I have every faith that Fonte will make worthy improvement during preseason training. I can't think of any first team player not capable of pushing themselves to make the step up. It'd be nice obviously to have depth to a squad that will get pillaged week in week out, but I have no preference as to what order the signings come in.
