I am over the moon Kauto has won seriously am but is SWC good enough for Long Run ? that was terrible in terms of strength and he was still getting to him
Definitely one of the best I have ever seen - and I have seen Arkle, Mill House, Dessie, The Dikler etc. Wonderful day - and it delays my 5th Boddingtons for 30 minutes
Long Run's tongue dangling would be a worry for me - maybe a TT next time? Either way, Kauto is still the one to beat come Cheltenham time
Long Run would have won in another 100yds today - he was gaining hand over fist at the last. The additional 2 furlongs and stiff uphill finish at Cheltenham favour Long Run
That's very sad if he has. Let's hope something can be done. They will be doing their utmost for him, that's for sure.
Knight Pass in the last - was giving 7lbs to Tetlami last time when 3rd. Could be a blot on the handicap
May be pocket talk am not sure, but i really think SWC is a very good ameteur rider but he cost his horse another KG today. The horse does not jump as well under pressure as he does in his slower paces but that is exactly where a jockey earns his fee in keeping him balanced and giving him confidence. At the last he needed to get away from the fence to chase down Kauto but although Long Run did not jump perfectly he also never messed it up completely yet SWC was hailing the proverbial taxi and so pulling him back as he needed to be going forward. I hate it when any criticism of a jockey or horse is automatically seen as pocket talk but i will accept the possibility that my views may be flavoured a little by that today, but i think he let Ruby ride the race he wanted and gave his horse little help at the busines end but still only just went down.
