    1992 - 2017 is best summed up by this;

    'Away from home our fans are fantastic, I'd call them the hardcore fans. But at home they have a few drinks and probably the prawn sandwiches, and they don't realise what's going on out on the pitch.'

    It is now a true statement across the lad, supporters that travel are the hardcore of football, that still follow in some of the old traditions, whereas the home supporters have become totally sterile.

    I remember a recent visit to Swindon, where it saddened me to see the hostilities of old had been eroded and replaced by complete silence from the home stands. I can remember as a young lad, pitch invasions to celebrate a home win if the performance and form was good, it was all in good jest and would raise the moral of a team, try it today and you will be met with a 3 year ban.

    Sky and it's camera's monitoring any one so much as dropping a penny, has completely destroyed the game.

    See and that's the problem! Sky along with the malice has tried to criminalise every football supporter in recent times, stemming initially from the Thatcher years (see my comment earlier about foot soldiers). It is not a crime to be passionate about football, no more than a bunch of pissed up Essex mob at a darts final. Yet, give a football supporter a beer at a venue or on a supporters coach and he is instantly a hooligan.

    The media have brain washed the public well, without looking at what happens at other sporting and music events, one rule for them and another for us. People will bang on about the 70's but we are not in the 70's now, as I'm constantly told about Brexit, stop living in the past!

    Hence why football supporters need a fairer deal and one that brings the atmosphere back to our stadiums.
