I'm aware of that, but as he's never played in a league game for us and was even less likely to do so now, I thought him irrelevant.
This is a bit of a ridiculous debate, we've got more first team players available to us now, than we had before the window opened. FACT. Lenihan's played one game in the last two years ffs.
In an ideal world maybe. But we now have 4 centre backs and Huddlestone who can go there if needed. is it really justifiable to keep a player on premier league wages who may get a game if 3/4 others get injured. If that is your only gripe with the squad then I'd say we must be in a good position. The original squad had 4 goalkeepers which is too many, we now have 3. It had injured players in McGregor, Odubajo, Lenihan, Bruce. We had Luer in there and likely to get game time, now he's probably going to drop out of it because we have strengthened. I think we only have injuries to Odubajo and Davies in the squad now. Yes Odubajo may not make it back, but if he doesn't and we effectively have a 24 man squad the fact that we have 1 less keeper means we still have the same amount of outfield players registered but with less injuries and less 'fillers' like Lenihan, Keane and Luer.
Three centre backs, one's out for two months. Retaining another when there's room in the squad would have been sensible. Moreso when you consider the recent injuries to two of the other three & the fourth has just arrived & may not be fully fit. We saw how Hudds coped on Sunday. Henriksen also injured. We're still short of numbers & weaker.
Before Marshall, Jak, Kuc Daws, Davies, H, Elmo, Robbo Jake, Meyler, Mason, Snodger, Hudd, Maloney, Henriksen, Clucas. Dio, Hernandez, Mbok That's 19, without Bruce who was back fit last week. We now have Marshall, Jak, Kuc Daws Rano H Robbo, Omar, Elmo (when he's back). Meyler, Clucas, Hudd, Maloney, Gros, Marko, Goebals, N' Dia, Dio, Hernandez, Mbok, Niasse. 21, but only 20 available on a match day. That looks about the same to me. It would also look better with Bruce still there.
So this "We haven't bulked out the squad, we've reduced it." wasn't true then, glad we got that one sorted.
We named a 25 man squad in September. Made up with some injured players who were due back. We can't do that now.
So what, we've only got two injured players due back this season, Davies and Henriksen and they're both still on the list?
Agree although I've never been a fan of his TBH. Seems like his technical abilities may well suit MS better.

I suspected Kuciak would be sacrificed, though Luer and Leniham both being out with Moses and Mason left in is a bit of a surprise.
Question is, what happens now if we end up getting Salibur? Henriksen gets the elbow because he's injured, or Maloney goes because he plays least?
