My comment was clearly (well, at least to any normal person) a rye comment, very much tongue-in-cheek. Actually, I think any sane and logical person would look at our two clubs and conclude that you've been able to maintain your position ahead of us purely and simply because you've had certain financial advantages that we didn't, and still don't have. And I am equally certain that they will conclude that you have squandered your chances. This gulf in class that you talk about hasn't actually been a "gulf" for a number of seasons, now. In fact, the only difference in quality between you and us was Fabregas and Nasris, both of whom have left your club. I would say that you are very much below us in quality at this point in time. Now, I don't, for one minute, imagine that it will stay like that for very long, since you have the money not only to spend on the class players, but, crucially, you have the ability to pay double the wages we can afford. But that won't last forever. When we have our new stadium, we'll be able to afford to match you like-for-like. That day is coming, trust me. In the meantime, that you should even contemplate that we'll finish above you is an utter condemnation on how badly things have gone at your club. With the financial advantages you have, backed up by countless years of CL money, there is no way that we should even be competing with you. Either you have been growing steadily worse, or we have consistently punched above our weight. I think it's probably a mixture of the two. As for this "power shift" thing, I can absolutely assure you that most Spurs fans treat it as a joke and not something to take seriously. We can have no legitimate expectation to finish above you (for the reasons I have already stated), so no sensible Spurs fan is going to seriously believe there is a power shift (whatever that means). But "gulf in class." No way. There should be, but I don't think any serious commentator would agree that there actually is one.

Actually spurs have spent far more money that arsenal in transfer fees over the last 5 years which pretty much evens things out, we get players in relatively cheaply and pay then big, you buy players in at an inflated price and therefore can't afford to pay them that much, plus I don't think you can afford to build a stadium in the current economic climate, unless you sponge of us tax payers.
