However, in reality that mainly boils down to Bent and Henderson, both of which we still need to spend money on to replace.

RAW I think that 44m for a 20m profit is still not bad when you imagine the players we've signed.

We must've been breaking even or better when we were on that losing streak (as it didn't start until that twat B£NT left) and everyone was going on about us spending 50m+

Spot on. It's like selling all your furniture in your house and then claiming you have lots of money in the bank. The fact remains you have nowhere left to sit, or eat off.

If we could survive WITHOUT spending that money, then this would be teriffic business but we cant. That amount and much more IMO, need to be re-invested this summer to ensure we have an enjoyable season and not an arse-nipping tight one.

All true, however, it is a £20m profit over two full seasons. It might be due to the Bent and Hendo sales (do those numbers take Hendo into account yet or not?) but imagine if we spend, say, £40m this summer. That would still only put us in a £20m transfer deficit since Bruce took over. A £20m deficit on transfers over 5 transfer windows (average spend £4m a window) is pretty good in my eyes. I bet there's still only a few clubs in the top flight who have net-spent less than £20m over the past 2 years- and I doubt any of them have improved from 17th upto 10th in that time.

Good work Bruce and Quinny.
