I don't disagree with that list but will be amazed if we offload anywhere near 19 players.

Asimwe , Mbick and Kanu - keep another year but another year for each on loan.

Offload and replace Kaminski if a buyer can be found.

Otherwise I agree with the list

Hard to know with the kids. If there is still potential that they could improve our position in the Championship, then yes give them another year out on loan. But the chances are that they won’t and therefore we should sell them for as much as we can get. Only the staff will know their real potential or lack of it.

I'd keep Mbick and use him off the bench. He does have potential.

JRC needs more game time, as does Knibbs when he returns. They are decent players. Whether they deserve to stay remains to be seen.

Kaminski and his wages need to leave the club in the summer. Mannion is more than capable of holding the fort.

You can't be getting rid of that many players. I would still keep Gillesphey obviously not as first choice though but he is a capable replacement. Same with Doherty, both our runs at beginning of season and current had him in the team no coincidence I think. I'd still also keep Leaburn and Campbell, a lot of the problems come from creativity and I think Leaburn can still come good but I do have a soft spot for him. Campbell on other hand is a winger playing striker but a good bench option.

@Ubedizzytoo was asking who we would keep and get rid of, presumably if each one of us was the manager.

My choices would broadly reflect what was in the original post, with perhaps a couple of differences.
But in order to get rid of that many players in one transfer window, there would have to be new owners in place with very deep pockets.
Moving all of those players out, and replacing several of them with significantly better (all at once) would cost (at a rough guess) £40m to £50m.

Charlton's current owners would never spend that much in a single Summer.
So I expect the usual scenario.
We might move on nine or ten, and sign six or seven. With a net spend of maybe £3m if we're lucky?
Result - a marginally better squad if we buy wisely, or maybe no improvement if we don't.

A significantly better season in 2026-27 will then depend on chancing upon a great combination that clicks on the pitch, and the handful of players who make up that combination not getting separated by injuries.
If not (which is more likely) then it'll be a bottom third slog again for the most part, hoping we can glean enough results to reach 50 points by April.

A good target for a first season back up out of the boondocks.
But one that isn't quite so appealing second time around.
However, without a couple of Hollywood sugar daddies (or the like) I don't see that there is much of a choice.

All valid points. In reality I agree that we will not get rid of 19, that’s just my ideal world list.

If I have to be more realistic then I’ll add the following to the keep list;

Doc
TC (as an impact sub only)
Leaburn

So keep 16 and let go 16

Add maybe three good quality loanees and then spend whatever money we have on four high quality Championship standard players. I reckon that strategy would see us safely mid-table or above next season, which is the steady progress that is being aimed for in my opinion.

Does anyone know if Olaofe has scored or got an assist yet since his return to Stockport ?

He certainly hasn’t set L1 alight.

Apter and Anderson both came off the bench after about an hour last night. Kanu played 75 minutes for Walsall, Asiimwe was an unused sub for Wimbledon. Our most successful loaned player is Mbick, who is out for the season after suffering serious injury.

Asiimwe has made 34 appearances for Wimbledon so far, including 90mins last Weds and on Saturday, so maybe just being rested. I was at Wimbledon last Wednesday when they played Blackpool, Nathan had a good game and my Wimbledon mate said he's been good all season, so maybe just being rested last night? I don't think he's ready for the Championship, but not a bad loan for him.

I'm not sure it's been a great loan for Karoy though, the fact he's not starting in a pretty average Blackpool side is not ideal. I think he probably needs another loan in L1 next season.

Kanu has made 37 appearances and scored 16 goals for Walsall who have been in freefall since Christmas, so still a decent return. Probably needs a L1 loan next season.

I don't disagree that Mbick has been our most successful loan, but Asiimwe and Kanu have both had decent seasons.

Dramatic changes to personnel and style of play needed for next season imo.

We should stay up this season now but god it’s turgid to watch in the main at the moment
