I’m sure they’re fine, but still they are really just a tiny fan oven circulating hot air round food aren’t they?

    I’m obviously missing something

You are mate definitely, yes you are exactly right about how they work but it is how they cook that is the difference, some brilliant recipes online, chicken especially tastes so much better cooked in them.

Cheap as hell to use Den, my leccy bill has gone right down from £47 a month to £18 a month, that's using multi cookers as well but they do make a lot of difference bill wise.

    Fair enough.
I mean we don’t cook any meat or fish, but interesting nevertheless.
Mrs Tash mentioned one but it just seemed like yet another kitchen device to add to all the others so I vetoed it <laugh>
Mind you I was cynical about getting a good rice cooker and that’s amazing

I moved here in February last year and kept the same leccy company and payment as the last residence, could easily afford it so it was all good. In November I got my statement and I was £277 in credit, the £150 winter payment was included in that and they told me from this month i'll be paying the new amount. It's a no brainer really Den if your thinking of getting one and the food is delicious out of 'em, the big thing is you don't have to preheat 'em like a normal oven and it takes less to run.

I’m a clean and tidy worktop type person though.
I could do without all the Kitchenaid mixers and blenders and wherever already out on them, so don’t fancy yet another thing out on the top.
We’ll see I suppose but no desire to get one at the moment.
Still good to hear real usage info though, cheers

You don’t have to bend down to go in the oven
    Big plus for me

I'm not knocking them, if people want eat fried air, fair play to them, but aren't 'air fryers' mislabelled?

Isn't it just a little cooker like you can get for camping, that doesn't actually 'fry' anything?

I wouldn't be without mine now Ric, i'm cooking stuff faster in one of these then I used to in a normal oven, that's what helps keep the cost down. Meat is tender and juicy every time, you can even do a full chicken in one in no time.
