Well, that's the question, and with certain players like VVD and Fabinho possibly not to the same extent. But overall, quite possibly. 80 points is still 10-20 points down on our best seasons. And every season should have the mentality of going out and proving it again. It's difficult, and there were times last season where that mentality wasn't apparent. But it's still the standard, for any team.
Nice. I'm not there yet but.maybe a wave of optimisim will strike before the off. why? vvd. it's that simple. if he improved (absolutely no sign of it yet) back to his levels I'd be absolutely sure we could. the goals (nunez, gakpo) and where trent plays and who we buy are all then things that can be thought about but for me this is really all about the big man.
A few things could happen, we buy another CM and we go back to high press crazy attacking football, VVD will be fine if it works as there's always pressure on the ball and opposition players cannot pick their passes. If it doesn't work and the opposition is able to beat the press then we're ****ed. Or we continue from the end of last season with a more balanced approach and TAA moving around the pitch, McAllister helps here giving us protection with Fabinho. I think this is what we will do and therefore no need for another CM.

As of right now, I think it's silly for us to be listed as second shortest odds at the title. Only two players changed from our most disappointing season under Klopp. Think we have great chances at top four, but feel like it's throwing money away to bet on Liverpool for the title right now.
It's a lot more than"two players changed" Two players added would have been an accurate statement though
That's the nature of gambling surely? You take a punt on something that might or might not happen. Even City aren't guaranteed the title. Yes, we had a bad season last time, but we are the only team to have given them a run for their money for the last 6 years, so without any evidence for the coming season it seems reasonable to me for us to be second favourites, based on past form. 8 to 1 on us is considerably less silly than any bet on Villa or Wham. Anyway, it's highly dependent on how people throw their money about.
Well yes, but especially so in this case because noone can realistically expect us to win. 50-1 might be more realistic odds at this point.
Odds only reflect the risk-reward offering of the bookmaker. They are happy to take more money but at 8/1 off liverpool fans today. There's no bookie who can afford to give 50,000 liverpool fans 50/1 just in case. Newcastle at 16/1 merely says to me less money has gone on and the bookies are willing to that that risk to get more saps to bet.
