Silvio Berlusconi, the former Italian PM who bounced back from sex scandals and corruption allegations, has died aged 86. He died at the San Raffaele hospital in Milan, according to Italian media. In April he was treated for a lung infection linked to a previously undisclosed case of chronic leukaemia. A flamboyant billionaire media tycoon, Berlusconi first came to office in 1994 and led four governments until 2011. RIP
Former England prop Paul Rendall has died at the age of 69 after being diagnosed with motor neurone disease last year. He won 28 caps for his country and played at the 1987 and 1991 Rugby World Cups. Nicknamed 'The Judge', Rendall - who played his club rugby for Wasps - made his Test debut aged 30. England Rugby tweeted that Rendall was a "much-loved team-mate and fan favourite". Playing in a front row alongside Brian Moore and Jeff Probyn, Rendall made his first cap against Wales in 1984. RIP

The former Chelsea player and manager John Hollins has died aged 76. He made almost 600 appearances for the west London side, mainly between his first spell from 1963 and 1975, before a three-year stint as manager from 1985. He went on to manage the Swans and took them to the 3rd Division title in 2000. He also led the Swans to FA Cup victory over West Ham in 1999, and the Swans become the first team from the bottom tier to knock a Premier League side out of the competition RIP John
Double Oscar-winning actress and former Labour MP Glenda Jackson has died aged 87 after a brief illness, her agent says. RIP
Former Scotland, Manchester United and Leeds defender Gordon McQueen has died aged 70. McQueen was diagnosed with vascular dementia in February 2021. He started his career at St Mirren before moving to Leeds in 1972, winning the First Division two years later and playing an important role in their run to the 1975 European Cup final. RIP
