I went as a 15 year old to the 4th round FA cup game at Anfield in Jan 71. They had a full side out and we were doing ok and we were holding them to 1-0 (Toshack goal) then they brought St John on for Ian Callaghan with 15 mins to go. The noise from the Kop ( we were sitting right next to it) was so loud as they chanted his name.
Needless to say he scored with 5 mins to go and Chris Lawler got a 3rd at the end.
