Sandy Carmichael - ex Scotland and British Lions has died aged 77. He earned 50 caps for Scotland, was part of the 1971 and 1974 Lions tours and played in the Barbarians' most famous outing, in 1973. RIP
Great prop. He played for Scotland during the golden era for Welsh rugby . I remember he got a battering on the Lions tour to New Zealand in 1971, I think it was against Canterbury. RIP Sandy
Australian cricket is mourning the deaths of Test greats Alan Davidson and Ashley Mallet. All-rounder Davidson died on Saturday at the age of 92. Off-spinner Mallett, later an author and journalist, died from cancer on Friday aged 76. RIP
Former England and Wolves midfielder Ron Flowers has died at the age of 87. He was in the 1966 World Cup winning squad, but did not play. RIP
Bertie Auld, who played in the Celtic side that lifted the European Cup in 1967, has died at the age of 83. Five months ago, it was announced that he was suffering with dementia. RIP
Former Ireland rugby captain and two-time British and Irish Lion Ray McLoughlin has died aged 82. In 1966, he was the first Connacht player to be selected by the Lions and also part of the victorious tour of New Zealand five years later. RIP
