    I recollect him saying they raced in this kind of weather, not suggesting that was a good outcome.

    There were monsoon tyres.

    They were pointless as by the time you.need those you are behind safety car anyway.

    I can't remember, I was multitasking at the time, which I don't normally do when F1 is on (i work from home but stupid hours). Your point is taken though, a different era, not long after acceptance within the sport that fatalities happened.
