If he did a 0 stop race , surely that is breaking the rules as they all have to do one mandatory stop . I honestly don’t know .
Well that was more than a bit exciting, my faith in f1 has been restored. Really pleased for Gasly he's had a real up and down 18 months. I know Bottas had some damage, but he really wasn't on it for the whole race?
They just have to use the 2 different sets of tyres, which 999 times out of a 1000 would require a pit stop. Just worked out for him today, which ever way they ruled it it would hurt someones race.
I suspect ALPINE RENAULT as they will be named next year would be very proud to go for a Gasly/Ocon pairing once Alonsos swansong is done in a couple of years.
Just watching C4 coverage and Binotto being interviewed. He says they have lost pu performance due to tech directives. Then goes on to say they can't find balance etc with 2020 car. I can't see any reason why they can't use the 2019 car unless they can't fit the 2020 pu in? Racing Point are effectively using a 2019 Merc. OK publicity wise it might not look great but they might get more points this year and next! Any thoughts?
Maybe the PU last year disguised the balance issues, pushing the car through drag issues etc. Seb was a clown last year, maybe his spins were not entirely his making. Canada, were there issues the PU was hiding. Doesn't explain why Le Clerc didn't spin but it might have been a very twitchy car nonetheless. Ferrari have made a right mess of it all.
Ferrari can't use last years car as it would clearly show how much they had lost with their "trick" I can only assume this years car is actually better.
