Must admit it has taken time but lance is driving quite well. OK so his dad bought the team to give him a drive but he is beating Perez on odd occasions. It would be very sad for Perez to lose his drive, even more sad to lose it to Vettel with his performance in last 2 seasons!
Lance is not a bad driver at all , did well in the williams on occasions and I think his skills really shine in the wet , which says a lot . I just can't abide the boy .
because his dad is fabulously wealthy and bought his seat? Bit unfair, condsidering that buying the seat probably saved Williams and definitely saved Tracing point.
George Russell has laid into Red Bull for giving Albon a bad deal at Red Bull. Him, Norris and Albon domseem to have each others backs out there, quite refreshing really. “I’ve known Alex for the last 15 years, been in the same paddock as him, he’s one of the best drivers we all race,” Russell told Sky. “Max, Charles [Leclerc], all of us will say, he’s always been at the front in everything he’s done. And I don’t know what the hell is going on. “I feel really, really bad for him because he’s being made to look like an idiot and he’s absolutely not. He’s won in everything he’s done. So I don’t know what’s going on but they need to sort it out for him.”
The excuse of giving away IP should not deny an enquiry and is not the steering adjustment on the Merc IP, but is discussed in detail. Ferrari are embarrassed to be caught cheating, no other reason.
Merc's morale must be at the top, the performance over the past years. Whereas the the others are playing catch up. It has become a problem. The dominance is extreme. I wonder how much this season is down to the steering wheel technology. We might need a few more races to judge but this looks like total dominance. Not a good result.
It must be difficult to keep morale up as they keep winning so they are used to the high! I think the steering will help them in quali and after safety cars but they don't seem to be using if during the race for selected corners. Their dominance for so long is quite remarkable. They just seem to have every aspect running at 100%. Maybe strat at 80% but no one else is close so normally doesn't matter. I would have expected Red Bull to challenge this year as I thought Honda might get close to Merc in power and drivability and Adrian would give them a little more to make up the difference . I am shocked at how far Ferrari teams have slipped without their 2019 PU. I bet Renault must be so gutted having McLaren beating them. They can't blame their PU and have very experienced driver so its the actual car!!
The estimated consensus is that Ferrari is 50hp down on Mercedes, which is huge. This looks even worse as in 2019 Ferrari were estimated to be 30hp up on Mercedes. Theres also rumours of a loss for Honda as well, with Mercedes and Renault at much the same levels as 2019, which helps understand Mercedes dominance and McLarens podium threatening. Perhaps the skew in car performance is simply down to only 5 teams turning up to the season with the power levels they expected, and so their downforce / drag optimally set.
Just had a thought: read that Ferrari are ready to sign new concorde agreement any day! I wonder if that was the price for FIA keeping quiet about the PU cheating? Seems a great way to pursuade Ferrari to sign up to worse conditions than they would?
Pos Possible. What I don't like is that some teams might have been better placed and received more money if Ferrari had been disqualified, or had place penalties. Arguably the other teams took a financial hit for Ferrari cheating, which I guess i have to caveat by saying is publicly unproven.
On Sky at the team principles interview , Binotto said Ferrari were ready and happy to sign the new Concorde agreement now !
