He excellent in Day of the Jackel , The proper version not the inferior later version also in Ronin ( which probably the best car chase scene certainly up there with Bullitt and French Connection 1 ) RIP SirAnglo-French actor Michael Lonsdale, who played the villain opposite Roger Moore's James Bond in the 1979 film Moonraker, has died at the age of 89.
In the film, he played Hugo Drax, an industrialist planning to poison all humans on Earth then repopulate the planet from his space station.
It was one of more than 200 roles he played in both English and French over a career that spanned six decades.
He played the principal police officer in The Day of the Jackal.

I've just heard my friend and ex fishing partner Neddy (John Edwards) passed away today, of a cause not yet known , younger than me at 58 .In all the years I knew him I never saw him get angry at anyone or thing and believe me on occasion he had reason to , he'll be missed.RIP John
