I just had to have a look and was amazed to see that my selection, Night of Thunder is 4th in the rankings (based on earnings - £147,297), 2nd (based on number of winners - 1 behind Gutaifan) and second (based on win % - behind a sire that has had just 3 runners amassing just £21,515). I'm delighted with that
Bustino pulled it due to (sorry JRM) lack of interest. I just bring it up now and then if I got something right
In the 2018 I had Tudhope as my champion jockey pick: a bit premature, though he was leading after 2 weeks.
Well he was joint winner with an amazing 27% strike rate, Gutaifan, whom he tied with, had a 10% rate. Cable Bay was 3rd and although Gleneagles did reasonably, the expected front-runner Muhaarar was a touch disappointing. A thing to like about NoT’s produce was how tough they seemed. Hadn’t realised he’s from the family of that lovely filly, Paul Mellon’s Forest Flower, who was a fine 2yo and went on to win the Irish 1000G. You may remember her dam Leap Lively who won the Fillies Mile and was 3rd in the Oaks.
Yes, I looked at the full pedigree to come to that conclusion. Probably lucky on this one but pretty chuffed nevertheless
