I note that the projected result has resulted ijn a 3 cent gain against the US$ in just a few hours, with a similar rise against the Euro.
I dread to think what the effect on the Pound (and my pension) would have been if the scruffy commie had won.
Over the moon that it won't be a hung parliament and there'll be an end to the paralysis that it caused

I can't see The Labour Party ever becoming electable until they purge their membership of Momentum supporters as they had to do with members of Militant Tendency.
I'm quite fond of History in that it often tell us the future.
In Political terms it tells us that the British People don't vote for left wing extremists, or a party portrayed as being just that.
Boris won this election with the support of Jeremy.
The members of the Labour Party who put him in charge pretty much guaranteed years of Tory Government.
And the Tory's couldn't change this even when they gave the leadership to Bonking Boris.
Jeremy's history was always going to be a problem. Accusations of antisemitism I suspect were very damaging.
After all it's a very small step from claiming that it's ok to persecute the Jews in the Party to doing the same to other minority's.
And this was not JUST the press. I've seen and heard members on TV gloating when yet another, long serving Jewish MP says they couldn't stand again.
Put simply, the Labour Party has lost it's inclusivity.
The whole situation reminds me of Maggie's first win against Jim Callaghan, following 'The Winter of Discontent'.
The Party didn't learn any lessons from that, and the Tories stayed in power for 17 years till middle of the road, Tony Blair came along.
If you feel that you must refer to Black Shirts and Jackboots, though, perhaps some passing references to the Soviet Stalags and Stalin's purges might add some balance to your point.
Go even further if you wish and include the efforts of the East German People, (or most of them), to escape a left wing system by tearing down a rather large concrete wall.
My good news for YOU, is that history teaches us that The Labour Party will be back.
Any party in Power for too long gets carried away, or some of their members do. (remember the Hamilton's).
They, (Labour) will get their house back in order.
When is up to the Membership, but it's no good blaming the rest of us for last night's result.
The BLAME rests with those left wing members of the Party who put an unelectable Jeremy in charge.

The area in general voted leave. The labour mp’s voted remain. Their position after that was untenable. Big kick in the knackers for their party in the north east.
In our constituency, if the Brexit party hadn’t been involved, labour would have been very very close to losing their seat here. Tory and Brexit combined was bigger than the labour vote.
Anyhow, now the dust is settling, can we all go back to being football experts instead of politicians
Last night, following initial exit polls, I saw a beaten man, John McDonnell (who comes across as an arrogant, smarmy, condescending tosser), who reminded me of my first job (a few years ago 
) . . . . at SPD on Simonside Industrial Estate.
I once went on a course with a view to becoming a union representative (as Strawbs would say
'A part of the union' - brilliant song) and the only thing that I can remember from that course was that the training was to practice supporting something that I didn't believe in (to lie).
That's what McDonnell reminded me of . . . . it has been obvious to me throughout the campaign, and, in hindsight, he was right
As far as The Tramp is concerned, I now expect McDonnell, and others in the party, to 'stab him in the back' to make room for a decent, respectable, leader that might even respect the electorate (something that The Tramp obviously doesn't do)

An interesting bit of trivia for you, it MAY come in handy at Quiz Nights.
Did you know that the man who formed and led the British Union of Fascists, Oswald Mosely, was originally elected to Parliament as a Tory MP.
However he quickly switched sides to Labour and was a Minister advising on employment in Ramsey McDonalds Government, this was the first ever Labour Government.
Mosely left in 1930 when his plans for a policy based on Keynesian philosophy and protectionism.
He set up his 'New Party' and this eventually morphed into the Fascist party it became.
But it's roots were Socialist.
Over on Twitter, I've seen people referring to Jeremy Corbyn as a "wonderful, wonderful human being" and saying things like "I'm glad I was alive while you were leader of the Labour party". All of this, the chanting of his name at music festivals, the Che Guevara-like posters demonstrate that, for some people, this has been about the veneration of one man who will lead them to prosperity, a leader-cult, if you will.
time for the north east to give their heads a shake and get behind the Tories
Trouble is that the person who will be their next leader will have all his traits, he’s indoctrinated all his own values deep into the core of the party. Gonna be a long time until we see a Labour Party that we once knew
