Hell mate sorry you are having a bad time let’s hope the councillor can work his magic.
It's fine, mate. I'm alright, I just lost the last of my older family in quick succession and I'm feeling the pressure of being a Dad and getting on with life more than ever now. I am okay, though.

Cheers Rooch <ok>

An economics professor at a local college made a statement that he had never failed a single student before, but had recently failed an entire class. That class had insisted that Corbyn's socialism worked and that no one would be poor and no one would be rich; a great equalizer.
The professor then said, “OK, we will have an experiment in this class on Corbyn's plan”. All grades will be averaged and everyone will receive the same grade so no one will fail and no one will receive an A (substituting grades for dollars – something closer to home and more readily understood by all).
After the first test, the grades were averaged and everyone got a B. The students who studied hard were upset and the students who studied little were happy.
As the second test rolled around, the students who studied little had studied even less and the ones who studied hard decided they wanted a free ride too so they studied little.

The second test average was a D! No one was happy.
When the third test rolled around, the average was an F.
As the tests proceeded, the scores never increased as bickering, blame and name-calling all resulted in hard feelings and no one would study for the benefit of anyone else.

To their great surprise, all failed and the professor told them that socialism would also ultimately fail because when the reward is great, the effort to succeed is great, but when government takes all the reward away, no one will try or want to succeed.
It could not be any simpler than that.

There are five morals to this story:
1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity.
2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.
3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.
4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.
5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that is the beginning of the end of any nation.
I’ll make one final point. There are five morals to the story, but there are dozens of nations giving us real-world examples every day.

Sort of makes you wonder why some people still believe this nonsense?

Saffy, the "economics professor" tale presumes that everyone gets what they work for.

I've just done a quick daft calculation and worked out that Mike Ashley is worth 9,000 times what I am. Do you think he works 9,000 times harder than you, me or anyone else on the forum? The fat ****er is rolling in dosh because he pays his workers less than the minimum wage, and I find your support for such people pretty weird.

My support for Mike Ashley? If you want me to go around hating successful folk, just because they've got everything they wish to have whilst other people are struggling, that's simply not my nature. It smacks of bitterness and resentment.

I don't support Fat Mike, btw. I support capitalism but that doesn't mean I can't also support a fair system and workers rights.

Why will the buffoon not be interviewed by Andrew Neil or Julie Etchingham? Other party leaders have been interviewed. Is the tory propaganda machine frightened that the general public will see through the veneer and get an incling of the real Blond Buffoon - the public persona is bad enough as it is.

PS I am a bit worried about him but has anyone seen Reece-Mogg? Perhaps he has fallen down a hole.

Anyway, whilst countries bicker and extremists create divides, the world burns. Parts of Russia, Canada, Asia, Australia and South America are on fire and the Amazon forests decimated. India and Pakistan leaders are at each other’s throats, whilst their counties are rotten with pollution. China, the major polluter, continues to export single use plastic around the world and in this country import much of it. We are still able to buy plastic lighters that end up in the ocean, poisoning the sea bird populations when they think of them as food to feed their chicks. This was highlighted 20-years ago, yet still the lighters are available.

EVERY piece of plastic that enters the sea has the potential to kill, to choke or poison the sea life and to eventually enter the food chain. The ice is melting at an unprecedented rate, far beyond what the scientists predicted.

The leaders of this world are akin to Nero playing the flute, whilst Rome burnt. Each and everyone of them should hang their heads in shame, as the catastrophe that is heading our way may destroy all our ways of life and it may not be fixable.

Still, Christmas is coming eh! Plastic glitter is still in abundance, throwaway plastic toys line our shops. We do, I feel, to change our perspective and we do need to unite. Start to look and see the damage that is being done and have the people that we vote into power make real inroads for change. Oh and have billionaires worldwide, pay 100% international tax after their first billion, to fund the cleanup that is required around the world.

Jeeze, I’m angry. Watch BBC 1 on Monday 25 Nov @ 8.30 & 9PM and I’ll bet that you will all be, at the very least concerned, possibly angry and maybe very scared for the future.
Doesn’t matter who you vote for the world is not listening:

As do I.
We can like or dislike a person no probs.
But the philosophies behind each of the rwo main contestants are basically look after and give breaks to them that already have so much they need several lifetimes.
Or to give dignity to a mans labour, sweat & toil. No not make everyone alike - but let a man who is working 37/40 hours a week enough to feed his family.
That is my Socialism.

Reactions: Conspiracy Theorist
Try ready what Mr. Merritt wrote. Not what twisted words and meanings.
Listen to an honest grieving father - do you really believes he is using his sons death to promote lies.
‘Oh contraire‘ as dell boy said, - he recognises a corrupt smell when the Bonker boys are about.
Bring back a more just society with Labour at the helm. God willing.
