I can’t remember seeing a worse decision to review than that. With bad weather tomorrow we have to pile on the runs today if we want to win this game. Declare 150-200 ahead bowl at them between the rain tomorrow and on Monday. Now watch us get out for 120, bowl them out for 120 and have an incredibly nervy run chase......
That was another completely stupid review unless Pope was 100% sure that it had come off the bat. Come on lads, no one wants to get out, but be reasonable.
Still one bit of bright news on a gloomy days is that Bairstow & Woakes are putting India to the sword, Woakes has maiden test century, Bairstow a few away from his and England top 300, plus tomorrow's forecast isn't quite as bad as original thought......
Looked at London forecast for tomorrow and cloudy all day with rain from 3pm...……..but our forecast for today was cloudy all day and rain from 5pm but it's rained all day and it's heading east towards Lords...…..
Great knock from woakes & bairstow, good lead & probably see how weather is before declaring & have probably got enough to win anyway as I can’t see India surviving against our attack.
Hard to see Stokes coming straight back in, even if he's not banged up. You couldn't drop Woakes after this game, and it would be very harsh to leave Curran out. The only other option would be for him to replace Buttler at number six, but we would be overloaded with seamers then.
With these weather conditions the Indians will be up against it, their only hope is a day and a half of non-stop rain...
Nice bowling from Jimmy, but I can’t work out where Rahul thought the ball was going for his lbw, he was nowhere near it, playing a shot in a different county.
Broad takes out Pujara with a cracking inswinger 50-4, could be all over by this evening weather permitting...
Kohli gone now and an injury doubt for next Test, as Karthik goes first ball, Broad on fire at the moment 61-6...
Win by an innings and 159 runs in less than two full days play. The conditions were perfect for English seam bowling, but the bowlers still had to deliver and did in spades. I think they would have bowled any team in the world out twice. Also great effort from Woakes and Bairstow batting in those conditions. Top class performance. Indians really don’t look like they fancy it if it’s not a flat track which takes spin later in the match.
It's the same when we play over there, they prepare dust bowls that will take spin after three days and we're f*cked...
