I disagree. He trusts Rashford as a back up striker and to play him as a winger in some games. But he does not trust him to play in his favoured position as a striker week in week out.
Because he's 19. SAF didn't trust Scholes to play as a CM week in week out until he was 21 FFS.
As good as Rashford is, he is still too young for the pressure of being the club's only striker particularly with Martial struggling for form last season. He's bound to have some barren patches this season, and the last thing you want is all the pressure and focus being on a young lad and why he isn't scoring.
He played 53 games last season, more than Zlatan. No reason he won't play a similar number this season, but not as the only striker in our squad.
