Bale has never been a player that interested me in the slightest, good against poor teams but average against decent ones.
The Perisic signing was for a 3-5-2 formation, which is not necessary. For bigger/tougher games, we'll bring in Herrera and revert to a setup to contain the opposition and counter attack.
Bale is getting absolutely slaughtered by the home fans and also in Marca, the RM tame newspaper. Asensio has been elevated to god-like status in the last few weeks and given that CR and Benzema have both committed to new contracts it seems increasingly likely that bale will have to go - and in typical RM style, he will be made to 'leave of his own accord'. Hope to hell we don't sign him.
The lad is quality, I'm no expert on these things but if you feel ostracised or unwanted by the fans, it's going to adversely affect your performances. Fellaini got **** off our fans completely unwarranted but he had the character to come back and prove that he's integral to our squad. Bale would be welcome here as far as I'm concerned, he'd add even more pace, height and strength to our side, I'm all for it. I just don't want us to waste time on it, dealing with RM is like pulling teeth.
I'd just be worried that he is extremely prone to muscle/ligament injury and in going back to the cold climate in the UK those injuries will become more frequent. It would be an expensive experiment.
Possibly, but I don't reckon we'd sign him if his knees and ankles etc look like a mess in his medical.
If we are going to sign someone, let's go for some young talent on the up rather than someone like Bale who may have already peaked.
Talk now of Mahrez being a late target. If you think back there were a number of our lads walking off the pitch with him at the end of the game with their hands over their mouths - agent Pogba being one of them - perhaps that's where the papers get their 'stories' from these days.
