That was Vettels fault imo, went in too hot like (I thought) he did at Sochi. Where did Kvyat come from?
Maybe I'm just being greedy.... but I want, no I demand more dueling between Hamilton and Vettel. I want some serious tooth and nail stuff.
Just bloody glad it looks like we might actually have a season on our hands for the first time in a while. Need RBR up there too now.
We still haven't really seen the dual between these pair, different tyre on the same stint. It's great to see them so close and it's ultimatley being decided on strategy, Ferrari got caught out today as Merc have in the past, but question will be asked why the ended up on the slowest tyre for the longest stint? Disappointed that we see teams revert to using teammates to blatantly block, I know it's potentially part of the sport but it's unsporting when you sacrifice the other drivers strategy so badly, given that Merc are allegedly all about the Team result first. I think Merc may be worried that their upgrades have not sent them half a second up the road, but Lewis worked hard for that today. On a separate note, Lewis wins a thriller according the Media and internet yet Bottas win was a bore fest, which was a real like for like dual
That was my problem with today's race.... missing some serious head to head between Hamilton and Vettel. Interesting to see how it played out, but far from thrilling.
It's hardly Lewis bias. Russia was absolute trash. 0 on track overtakes, nor was there ever really a moment you thought there might be. This one was filled with uncertainty and some great battles.
Well we will just have to agree to disagree on that one - but that's what makes the sport great - opinions.
Bottas was pretty much in his own for 3rd, I think he was severely hampered by his engine, which finally gave up the ghost, which mercedes may have known. At the end of the day they were 2 & 3rd when they made the decision and was one of the reasons they won the race, he held Vettel up enough to give Hamilton the opportunity for the DRS later. If the engine hadn't gone boom they would've scored more points than they would have if they hadn't used Bottas as the moving chicane. That is definitely about the team result first.
With hindsight yes, but 20 laps into the race they hadn't guaranteed Bottas, multiple safety cars, poor pit stops could have caused issues, but I take your point. I still think Merc are a PR clusterfuk, they pick and choose when it suits trying to convince everyone they are racing.
