At the same time Hamilton always used to get slating for moaning about having to share setups with Nico. If I was Nico I'd say something along the same line, gotta have your fun with sneaky digs every now and then
https://gprejects.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=8047 poor JP, he's still in F1 but being considered a reject.
Merc have definitely not been racing each other this season. Stop reading the media, the journalists know nothing! not606 is where the real info is at!
That's a bit harsh, they could at least wait until he is replaced mid-season before adding his entry.
If Hondas MGU-H can only survive 2 races why didn't they change it before FP1, again for FP3 and then for Race? That would give them 2 spares with no extra penalties. I think that's how the current grid penalties work anyway?
It will take a lot of luck and safety car action for Hamilton to get near bottas. He will be fighting to even get minor points today. The battle at the top will be interesting. With max, stroll,Palmer, ocon and vandorme.... and a dodgy button engine there should be at least 3 safety cars If there's not these cars are not as hard to drive as advertised. First corner is must see... after that this should be tactical.
Hamilton is saying that the issue is similar to what they had in Russia when they were overheating tyres. If they can't get the problem solved today he won't be able to make up any places because they will still have a car with no grip that's way off the pace. Going to be a long afternoon for him I suspect.
They say even the Ultra softs can do a full race distance so there's not much they can do with Hamilton strategy wise. Either pit him on lap one and hope others pit before he catches them up again (which will take him only a few laps even with his slowness). Or just hold out for others to pit and hopefully block the front runners and hope they spoon it into a barrier? If he gets into the top 8 he's done well, that's how low my expectations are.
Could be. The trouble is, his car is not out of position. It's not like one of those occasions when an error in qualifying or grid drop has put him so far down and he has a good car to fight back, he's there because the driver/car package deserves to be there. So he is stuck.
Did anyone else see Ted Kravitz post qualifying note book ? He Seemed to suggest Massa will be there again next year , and they are looking for another driver ( He Muted Sainz ) . Not sure they should retain Massa , but I am rapidly losing patience with Stroll .
While Lewis may not be having a great weekend his last quali run had to be aborted due to Vandoorne crashing. So I do think he is a bit out of position, I would have expected him to be top 6 if he completed his quali laps.
