I'm sorry I'm very immature but I can't stop having a chuckle when I come onto this page and see that guys Mercedes race suit in the OP......
fun? I voted for Hamilton last race, do you really think that I, Big Ern, would do that if it was about FUN!!!?? I want the title that I should've had in 2010 when I was robbed by an early season PC problem that stopped 3 winning votes for Vettel counting. then I'll do a Rosberg and retire.
still dont know why Mercedes risked Bottas on an old engine in spain, surely use it on a less engine straining track like here?
I guess they hoped it would last saving the need for a 3rd PU, which in turn could mean he misses out on upgraded PUs when they become available. A gamble that didn't pay off.
Interesting that both Merc customer teams have used so little of their components!!! Really shows a much less stressed PU they have at their disposal!! PU suppliers must be forced to supply identical units with identical software and operating parameters, including not forcing external suppliers to sign exclusive contracts (i.e. fuel and lub suppliers). I love these PUs but I hate the fact that the customer teams are being hobbled by manufacturers and FIA allowing them to continue!!!!
It will be interesting to see if there are any changes to the pecking order when the teams load on the downforce?
Mercedes going for the more is better approach to the bargeboard area Renault joining force India with a triple T-wing
Can see where these aero-based regulations are taking us. Huge wind tunnel budgets and little chance of overtaking except for DRS and pit strategies. Still, at least the cars will look cool...
Very early but the Ferraris are looking very comfortable around here. Not far off last year's pole now.
Seems ok. He's 3 tenths down on Vandoorne at the moment. Pretty reasonable for his first time in the car.
I like these " If you were Jensen " Comments from the BBC . Rob Groom: I'd leave little stickers on the wing mirrors saying "Front runners may be closer than they appear" Racing Insider: I'd answer any more silly questions about whether I really want to be racing this weekend with the words "Monaco Baby, Yeah!" Dinesh Pawar: I'd fill Ricciardo's shoe with sticky toffee pudding.. That'll be interesting.
From the BBC . Lance Stroll needs a good weekend after a disappointing start to the season so what he doesn't need is to crash in practice. He's crashed in practice.
Button doing OK. While it's his first day in the new car he is only matching Vandoorne so far! He is making Alonso so much more valuable to the team!!!!!! If Alonso hasn't already signed for Renault, McHonda needs to be offering him a huge deal!!!!!
Toro Rosso showing what I have felt all season- a very neat little chassis that is underpowered to do itself justice. Hope they can stay on the pace for quali and race. Sainz podium here would be nice and with a retirement or two ahead of him might happen!
