He made a film called 'The Endless Summer', which was a pioneering bit of surf travelogue for it's time. It's a bit tame and cheesy by today's standards, but still a great watch even if you're not into surfing. I think the whole thing is on youtube to watch.
In the film ? No it was made in 1966, but I do know a chap called Rodney Sumpter who is in it.
