Bachasson makes his chasing debut today.... was running a belter in the AB last year before coming down. Out of the super sire Voix Du Nord could be an interesting recruit to fences. Hes a tiny horse so surprised to see him over the biguns but wondering whether he could be a dark one for the JLT if he takes to fences.
That's Moon racers form in the bin.... the punchestown bumper is working out incredibly well and much rather be on Jenkins
I wonder whether any of the Irish lads have heard where Riven Light sits in the pecking order at Closutton? Did everything in second gear at Thurles the other day and I think he would have comfortably held Hardline had that one not fell. Still 25/1 available for him for the Supreme and, although it is a long way to Cheltenham in March, I wonder if this is one they will bring along slowly. Interesting that Ricci doesn't have one running in the Royal Bond tomorrow, and with Koshari and Senewalk both being beaten already this season I wonder if Riven Light might turn out to be the Ricci supreme horse this time around?
Backed Ar Mad at 20/1 e/w for the Champion Chase, hopeful he can take the Tingle Creek today and shorten significantly.
Makes you laugh, BURBANK quoted by most bookies as fav for the Festival Bumper runs over hurdles tomorrow! AR MAD would surely have a hell of a chance in the Ryanair no?
I think if his jumping didn't go to bits midway he would have gone close there. Too fresh for his own good likely
Hoo how /-that's asking a lot of forgiveness , his jumping was very novicey -got away with it last year but up against the highest competition it is much different
Horse I really have hopes for over novice hurdles he an entry at Warwick or Doncaster this week called Westend Story for Phillip Hobbs. Looks like starting off over 2m5f so I suspect Neptune or Albert Bartlett is the way it will be campaigned. 5th in the Champion bumper and I know the form has been let down but he looked like a big baby and should make into a nice one.
Further Update. Yanworth to be given entries in the International Hurdle at Cheltenham and the Christmas Hurdle run at Kempton Park on St Stephen’s Day. A bit of shortening re him for the Champers Hurdle, as a result of this, and now as low as 10/1 in places. 14’s the biggest now available.
Yorkhill 16/1 for the Champion Hurdle???? If he was to stay hurdling this would look like a great bet. Given that Annie Power and Faugheen are unlikely to oppose each other he would surely place at worst. The only way those two will both run is if Faugheen has a troubled prep. As both Annie and Faugheen have both missed recent entries, Willie may keep Yorkhill over hurdles as a back-up. Yorkhill was expected to go chasing this season but has yet to begin this part of his career just yet. If he wasn't to start over fences before Christmas they may decide to keep his novice status until next year. Thoughts???
I like Yorkhill for this as value too but heaven only knows where he will end up. Altior might be scaring them off chasing unless they want to try and follow up Black Hercules JLT win for the same connections? Mullins was almost adamant after the Neptune he was a Champion Hurdle contender and his impressive win at Sandown last year over 2m suggests he is a contender and has the requisite speed. He and Yanworth have to both show it.
Alan King is quoted today as saying that Yanworth will be trained for the Champion Hurdle with his next run in either the ‘International’ (unlikely as this is currently My Tent’s intended target), the Christmas Hurdle (probable) or the Ryanair Hurdle (if the ground went against Yanworth on St Stephen’s Day). Still quite a few ‘ifs’ though about the whole thing and seems to revolve about the owner now believing Unowhatimeanharry to be something of a superstar and the next ‘big’ thing in staying hurdling. If the bubble bursts or injury intervenes you would have to wonder if Yanworth would yet again be re-routed – unless, of course, he comes out and wins his next assignment by half the track. Most bookie chappies have now cut Yanworth to 10/1 for Champion Hurdle glory.
Sorry if I've missed something chuckles, but wasn't you on here the other week saying you wouldn't have anything to do with nh racing. In particular Cheltenham which you regarded dangerous and over rated. I'm not here to start trouble and if you've had a change of heart fair enough, but some of what you said I found quite offensive and smacks of hypocrisy .
Tipped crack mome at 50s while back.... tomorrow is the day at Clomel to bin the slip or get excited!
While I'm on, been looking at the champion hurdle and one I've been following stands out at 50/1. North hill Harvey for the skeletons. He's got good course form having won two from three and was watching the supreme from last year was impeded before finishing down the field.two from two this year and not being one for ante post I might have a nibble at fifties. As for yanworth and a couple of others we will find out more the weekend. I can't wait.
Last chance to back American tom for the JLT at 16s tomorrow. Was ricci's best value bet when he was on ATR
