Bottas isn't that much slower, looks like a front-row lock-out to me, we got the best 5 teams with both drivers in the Q3, this could line up 2 by 2
Time for another wire-brush scrubbing, I've gone Hamilton. yep, the Canada result seems to have given Stroll .5
I think the Merc PU is still the strongest. Lewis in a league of his own, better hope Ferrari come back on the traditional tracks, because the Merc looks very fast.
Just been thinking, Ferrari haven't been this far off all year and this happened before the race.... coincidence?
I think Vettel is using old engine so might be down on power from Kimi. Wonder if it's Mercs top speed or stability on long straight or, hopefully not, a PU power update! Mercs are just so fast, seems like back to 1 sec ahead of everyone else. Anyone know if McHonda used updated engine?
Sector times suggest Mercedes were on it everywhere. Ferrari really seemed to struggle which goes against their form. Really could buy into the Ferrari oil burning theory.
Only 2/10ths down in the final sector so I would guess it's more traction related than outright power. Ferrari benefited more than most when tyre pressures were dropped and the pressures here are very high - 22psi.
Not how I expected today to go. Been out all morning so missed fp3 and q1. Was expecting a Red bull Ferrari shootout based on yesterday. Half expected Hamilton to be battling the Williams in 8th as well!
Have to say I think it's like watching paint dry this weekend. Sleepy streety circuit with terrible sound and the usual Merc power-track dominance. Another silly addition to the F1 calendar.....All about the £££
