Not much else we can do except keep making the calls. It is doubly difficult when the transfer window is shut, money becomes less important, and I guess it is all about which club would provide the best shop window for out of contract players to put themselves in the limelight when the window opens in Jan.

Watched the West Ham v Brighton second half tonight. Please don't try to sign any of the West Ham players. They are worse than ours.

No chance it was on 520 which is part of my package so a sort of sky freeview thing. Only saw it on there by chance. West Ham were terrible.

Interesting interview with Nemanja Vidic (ex Man U CB of course) in the Sunday paper, singing the praises of SAF, who's inspired Vidic to do his FIFA Pro coaching badge. He also recounts that in training, Paul Scholes would routinely play passes over Vidic's head - just over though, low enough to make Vidic jump but high enough so he couldn't reach it - and them smile at him. What it must be to have that much skill. Anyway, he says he loved playing in England, where the strikers were "honest". Times must have changed since 2014. The one he singles out though is Ricky Lambert, who he maintains deliberately elbowed him .....

Simon Church came on as a 78th minute substitute and earned Scunthorpe a penalty near the end when he was fouled by Peterborough's goalkeeper....the penalty was converted for a 2-1 win.

We could of done with him signing for us last week....so disappointing that he went elsewhere.

Argyle Reserves lost 0-1 to Bristol Rovers development squad.....Argyle had nine players with first team experience playing, whilst Rovers played no one with first team experience (so it said).....poor result.

Wylde and Lameiras showed good skills....but no end result....(sounds familiar).... Blissett had a poor game from what was said, and Miller was easily passed with a early chance for Rovers. Bentley was the pick of the Plymouth players.

Cooper, Miller, Sokolik, Bentley, Law, Wylde, Lameiras, Sarcevic, Ainsworth, Fletcher, Blissett.

Paul Wotton who coaches the reserves....said there was some good performances and he felt the team played well....and it was good to get a game in their legs....but Paul they lost to a development side it can't be that good.

Just seen an amazing penalty in a Thailand match during a penalty shoot-out shown on the BBC website.

The penalty shot hit the top of the crossbar and went high into the air, bouncing eventually near the penalty spot....but it spun back and bounced into the goal......in the meanwhile the goalie had gone running towards the centre-circle celebrating....only to eventually see the ball cross the line for a legitimate goal.

We probably had the better of the match on a boggy pitch in some miserable mizzle. A few decent chances in the first half came to nought and a defensive mistake led to their goal. Biggest difference was that they were a well drilled team used to playing together whereas as we were a mixture of apprentices, 2nd string players and 1st teamers coming back from injury. Dare I say it, winning was more important to them than us!

Jeepers lyndie your tints get greener and greener every day............... I don't think we are blessed with any strength in depth so most of "the rest" aren't up to much.

I saw that penalty on the beeb site last night and have to say it's one of the funniest videos I've seen. You could play that shot again and again and never score from it ever. Freak doesn't really cover it does it. The poor keeper was beside himself and he still had to face the team mates in the dressing room.

Watch England U17's score 5 goals in the World Cup Final....I had to sit down, I felt quite unwell watching Spains net bulging so many times in such a short time.....remember I'm an Argyle supporter and only used to seeing one goal every 2 HOURS.
I have been recovering in a darkened room.....might just of recovered before the FA Cup against Grimsby on Saturday.....oh hell maybe not.

Fantastic wasn't it? Beat Brazil in the semis and Spain in the final.

Interesting stat in the paper though. The Class of 1966, when they were Under 20's, had 235 odd Top Tier appearances between them in their "under 20" year. The current World Cup Under 20's had 11 Premier League appearances jointly.

Pep Guardiola expressed astonishment when 17 year old Phil Foden ran rings around Anders Herrera of Man U in a pre-season friendly in the States. When and how is he likely to get a game in the Man City side though?

The article concluded that the Under 20's were probably already too far behind in terms of 1st team experience to win the World Cup proper: on a couple are regulars for their clubs. There is still hope for the Under 17's but the prospects aren't good with a majority being with Man City and Chelsea, who specialise in importing expensive foreigners.

Man City and Chelsea are well known for skimming all the cream and stopping them from playing for their rivals.

Didn't I mention awhile ago that Chelsea had twenty odd players out on loan from the last transfer window....players that will rarely ever get near their first team squad and gain the experience to make it.....earning reasonable money for reserve or lower league football.

I was right royaly pee'd off yesterday and this time it isn't due to Home Park results. I have been watching games in the U17 competition for what seems ages and have watched the England crew progressing nicely and playing decent football as well. Then I saw that the final was on Saturday kicking off just after 3pm. Yep when most of the English football league games would be on. I wanted to watch the final but was stuck watching my 2 hour goal fix as plym puts it. Fortunately me and gang got to the pub in time to see goals 3, 4 and 5. The games were well worth the look and maybe they should play the tapes to the Senior team and Manager. And our bleddy manager as well.

The thing is these kids will be forgotten by their clubs and not get a chance to go on? Shamefull.. This is what we need in the premier league, this year our youth teams have done great. If they did get game time perhaps our national team will be worth watching.... There will not be entertainment from our team next summer.. Send the youth teams to Russia? :emoticon-0146-punch

Watched the Rugby League Cup highlights earlier on.....watched Tonga v Scotland.....not a pretty sight if you were a scot....men versus boys to look at....Tongans roaring forward with scots hanging off them like discarded flies.....Scotland hardly had the ball to play with in the first half....conceding 9 tries and losing 50pts to 4. their next game is New Zealand.

Fellow League one strugglers Bury have sack their manager Lee Clark after a run of two wins in 15 games.

Hang on a minute....hasn't Derek Adams only won two matches in 15 games as well...<yikes>.
