So the Uefa "family" have taken their(unjustified)2,500 ticket allocation for the Anfield leg of our CL tie with City.
This corporate **** is ****ing wrong, the game could easily have sold out twice to supporters of both clubs that have to pay top dollar for the privilege, yet these shysters from the top echelons of Uefa cherry pick the games they want their freebie visit to and us v City whets their greedy ****ing appetites.
They already have a policy where the five front rows of seats behind the goals are left empty and in doing so deprive supporters of tickets but taking a further 2,500 is a disgrace, it's similar to the FA's stupid tradition of giving English County FA's tickets for the final, then they wonder why the same tickets end up on the black market.
Anyway, the "Uefa family" are a shower of bastards for basically stealing the chance for LFC supporters of seeing their club in a massive CL game.<grr>

Loved the application for Cup Final tickets back in the day. Would always ‘raffle’ them for club funds. Winner would be the lads who followed one of the teams. Been out of that for 10 years, anyone know if you can still apply?

I(and a couple of mates)ran kids football teams in three different local league's, and like your example FA Cup final tickets used to be allocated to the league's that would be raffled, but if the final didn't involve LFC or EFC what was the use of the FA basically "touting" them to Liverpool County FA clubs?, the system only makes money for ticket touts and prevents real supporters of the to finalists attending the game.

Also worth noting that city haven't sold put their allocation yet, in fact they havent sold out any of their ties yet this season. UEFA should have just taken some of their unsold seats for themselves.

When Spurs played Real in their group game at Wembley(90,000 capacity)it didn't matter that Uefa took their 2,500 allocation in full because the main number of Spurs regular support were eligible for tickets and the extras(37,000)went to their periphery support and day trippers.
But at the likes of our ground the -2,500 tickets makes a big difference(especially to those who lose out)
The system stinks and needs changing, but as it's a morally currupt and bung fuelled footballing body there's no chance it will change.

I guess the City supporters are just waiting to get drawn against a big team before they get excited.

It's not me you need to convince, it's the supporters of other clubs in the QF's :emoticon-0105-wink:

It would be much easier to understand your misunderstanding if you can explain why I'd be bitter about Spurs fans being able to aquire match tickets, considering that is the issue I'm posting about and am in favour of.:emoticon-0114-dull:

37000 periphery supporters and day trippers when they have more or less filled the ground at every home game (to the limits allowed), yep there wouldn't be 2,500 supporters missing out like there would at Liverpool <laugh>

So could you explain where the extra 37,000 where before the temporary move to Wembley?

Of course you cant, because they never went to games at WHL and are by definition "peripheral" supporters who in the main will vanish again when Spurs move into their new stadium.

Firstly, we unlike Spurs play at our own ground, Secondly many of those in the new stand are from the season ticket waiting list that have finally got the seat they waited years to buy.
Thirdly and finally they are permanently part of our home attendance as opposed to being peripherals watching Spurs temporarily until the new ground is finished.

    Hope that helps.<ok>

Be honest Page, you have a great European history (same as in top flight league football) but people outside of England who are 20 years younger than us will not see you as a big European club.
United made 3 CL finals in quick succession a few years back but I wouldn't expect anyone to class us as a big European club either anymore.

Spurs have a "waiting list" of about 40,000 supporters :emoticon-0100-smile
So people who you call peripheral are making the effort to get to a ground which is much harder (for most) to get to just for one season and then they will stop when it becomes easier (and cheaper) to go?

I see your point, but I think past EC/CL glories make the two clubs immediately recognisable to supporters of all ages, it's like when Real, Barca, Bayern, Milan etc go through barren years they're never forgotten because of past exploits.
