As a human being, Pep should be allowed to show his support if he wishes

Agreed and he does, every summer he goes back to Catalonia and supports his cause. It isn't necessary for him to do this whilst managing his team, he should keep it separate.

Say Allardyce comes out with a pro brexit scarf in the next game, I doubt it would go down well.

When did freedom of speech become selective?

The farce is that clubs like Celtic get hauled over the coals for making a statement, re flying the Palestine flag, yet UEFA will do damn all regarding the violence that surrounds a number of clubs still involved in both the CL and more particularly the EL. Next up - Marseille and Athletic Bilbao unless passports are taken from the ultra members, and the authorities know who these guys are. Sevilla are another with a naughty following. They make the CHAVS look like peace-loving hippies!!

Nicola Sturgeon attended football games at the time of her Party's fight for Scottish independence and not a murmur.:bandit:

Politics has never seemed to matter to the FA in the past.

That's the problem, freedom of speech is not selective so instead of getting all ****ed up with allowing stuff you dont agree with its easier and fairer to ban all political symbols/arguments

What constitutes a political argument is a completely different matter that requires endless meetings on full expenses. Trebles all round<bubbly>

So Racism, Homophobia and Politics are against FA rules, and if players are found to have broken rules on the first two above in print or online on social media they can be charged retrospectively.
But when Fergie bigged up the Labour Party's cause in the spoken and written press and bought his knighthood with a £50k donation to Tony Blair the FA didnt bat an eyelid.:emoticon-0105-wink:

People should grow a pair, just get on with it rather than being offended by anything and everything

True, I remember the "outrage" when Robbie Fowler showed his support for the dock strike.

Football authorities are wary of globally televised events being used as a political battleground that's all.
I don't care one way or another but I can see their point.
