Tbf, it's a genuine question, for example, it's 0-0 against Spurs at OT, a Spurs player attempts an audacious lob over the Utd keeper from the halfway line, the ball goes over the retreating keeper and a yard/metre over the line into the goal before the Utd keeper puts a hand on it and pushes it back into play.
Stevie Wonder and David Blunkett shouted goal, as did the visiting Spurs fans and all the ABU's watching on tv but the linesman gave it and it meant Utd went on to won the game 1-0

Had VAR been in place then it would have been a draw.

    Simples!

Having seen VAR used in the U20 world cup , they used VAR & still made the blatantly wrong call on at least 1 occasion i saw <laugh> , i'm not that keen on it. Plus the worry about how & when you stop the game may well cause problems.
I also argue that quite a lot of decisions in football are far more subjective than those in other sports using similar systems.

For me this is long overdue. Of course there will always be the difficult/unclear picture and the match refree will have to make a decision. It is the clear cut and barn door decisions that should be cut out: the wrong player getting the red card, the scorer who is 3 metres offside missed for some "unexplicable brown envelope" reason by the linesman, the diver who gets a pen without being touched. That sort of thing. The game will still have its judgement calls but at least we'll cut out the glaring mistakes.

for me if there is a open conversation we can all hear then

    a) referee should abdicate decision "upstairs"
    b) whoever is doing var should roll though then say exactly his call. And its ok to said i still can't be sure.
    c) ref is then told stick with on field decision or change

surely everyone has to be happy with an honest open system doing it best to get things right

It is really about the glaring errors.

I would go further though... I would want the rugby citing system. There's already a refs assessor in the stand at every game. Why can't that person take on a citing system role. Both teams can submit claims and that person watches and records missed issues.

THEN most vitally this utter complete ****e about a yellow = no further action as you can't change refs call can be got rid of. If a guy dives and is waved off the assessor can take the power form ref and say no sorry that should be a yellow but you have said you saw and dealt with it so its now a yellow.

Purslow talking out of his backside with his one sided angle on this topic, it's a two way street and Klopp has to match his employers ambitions, plus, as if he'd get a job at City, Utd or Chelsea if he fails miserably here.
He might not have given Barca the nod to buy Couthinho but he has an input into the players we sign and should take just as much flak as them if they and him fail.

Liverpool risk losing Jurgen Klopp if they do not fulfil his ambitions, says Christian Purslow

I had to laugh when i read this yes.

Its absolute bullshit and this is the guy who went off and bought his players to be the big man (joe cole)

Apparently his understanding of klopp is so limited that he things the guy would walk to man utd or chelsea... FFS the guy won't go to bayern who are the ultimate for any german cos he isn't interested in mega rich clubs buying titles.

Now any rival fan 75mil on vvd is big money but its nothing like city or utd spending.

    Its absolutely hilarious.

Purslow also has his favorites LFC must buy or won't win anything which means he learned absolutely nothing from his time ****ing up Liverpool

Seems he wants to be heard and get attention so job done... pity only a lunatic would consider that kind of rubbish worth listening to or take seriously so i hope its just attention not a job he wants.

well i must say its not all going citys way tonight.

splendid so far cos city need to play the full 90mins by the look of it and not just ease off after 30mins.

    .....

Also is this conte Mourinho stuff brilliant.

conte.. I'll not forget.. he might as well scream vandetta like a caricature of a Sicilian Mafioso.

    Absolutely hilarious.
