Not saying it wasn't a penalty by the way, just pointing out that if the ref didn't give it then the linesman called handball because Murray grabbed it with both hands and stopped it going out for a corner.

So Mike Ashley to sell Newcastle to an Arabian group, they say they tried to buy LFC but our yanks bumped up the price.
Two points, 1st, that's Newcastle possibly doing a Man City over the next few seasons, along with Spurs new stadium and them being a regular top 4 finisher pushing us further down the financial ladder.
2nd, our owners were apparently willing to sell but at a price that Stavely's people found to high, no wonder they won't spend more on Anfield improvements.

Was this rejection/sale not denied by FSG? They could be lying of course but thought I read they stated it never happened...

If true, why wouldn't FSG deny it?

The offers have been since our game at Newcastle apparently, I know they denied they had an offer from a Chinese investor a few months ago, I'm just gutted that if Stavley ain't lying(,and why would/should she)that they would've sold us if they got what they wanted.

With the current TV deal, I'd imagine FSG would be looking for at least a ten figure sum

Yeah 300m for Newcastle looks on the high side, but FSG bought LFC for 220m very much on the low side.<laugh>

But if true it shows they're not commited as much as they'd like us to believe.

You can be committed despite looking at bids received.

If you've got a car you love, you'd still sell it if someone offered you £1m for it. Everything as a price and they're businessmen!

Had a quick look and they denied this one too.

"FSG deny these claims and immediately rebuffed them in a strong statement released last night by Tom Werner, via the Echo:

“We have better things to do than batting down rumours about negotiations with Ms Staveley,” Werner said.

“However, there’s no truth to them.”"

Bolding isn't mine btw. EOTK is the source.

Apparently 1.5B offer is what they deny rejecting...

I've no beef either way tbh...if true then those that don't think FSG are committed long term should be happy that they are listening to offers...its their right to think an offer isn't enough.

If it's not true then nothing has changed. FSG are the owners and continue their publicly declared model/approach.
