Everton can still make the top half of the table if they employ a good manager. To be honest I am not talking about Sam Allardyce.

We might not like his style but Sam gets results
He could get Everton safe and probably top half if things go his way

When it was clear that Lukaku was to leave, they should have asked to take Origi on loan. I don't think Liverpool are going to object.

Er, no. Pep has spent in total £900m. Jose is on his way to £1.5 billion.

In answer to Evera's attacking a fan with a similar style the football news outlet from 30 miles up the road(okay Diego.<laugh>) have decided they'd relive the other disgusting assault on a fan by showing again their article from 2 years ago celebrating the players crime.
They dressed it up that poor Eric had no choice but to kick the Palace fan and that it was somehow okay to do so.

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/30916435

So, like most supporters I've given opposition players and managers stick at matches down the years(mostly Everton and Man U), called them ****ers, bastards, ****s, ****e blah blah, none of those I aimed the insults at jumped onto the terrace or stand I was standing/sitting in to kick me but I payed for the right to have my say(within reason and the bounds of decency)
I've witnessed at away games with regard to Gerrard in particular about how his kids aren't his, how his wife takes it up the rear end etc, would Gerrard have been justified kicking or punching one of the ****s singing it?, no I don't think so, even though it's disgusting its just what happens in modern day football unfortunately, look at the song aimed at Wenger that he's a *****, if the police can't be arsed arresting them and the stewards are to scared to throw the culprits out things won't change.

The game against Lyon at Goodison saw punches exchanged between players and supporters, but the players need to realise that they risk getting a good hiding if someone drags them into the stands, better to walk away, tell the police, tell the officials than go toe to toe with a supporter.

They'll both be in League One next season so you'll have to wait until the season after next mate <ok>

It is always going to be a matter of opinion who plays better football or who has more style or even who is the better manager. But if we had to have a measure then the number of trophies and the number of clubs they've provided trophies for could be used to measure which manager has been more successful.

Guardiola: 21 trophies mostly at 2 clubs.
Mourinho: 25 trophies at 4 clubs.

Money spent by big clubs is a poor measure because both managers had money to spend and I doubt whether either manager was restricted in their budget. They chose the players they needed: Pep already had Messi, and many Barcelona stars already in place when he took over. He didn't have to bring many star players in order to refashion the team.

In the premiership so far, there can be no argument which has been more successful so far Guardiola has won nothing while Mourinho has won 2 trophies: the EFL and the Europa.

    So are you judging on

    A) one season in England
    B) trophies over career
    C) players available.

    Like....

    1. Mourinho had Ronaldo, Guardiola had Messi...
    2. Mourinho started in 2000, Guardiola in 2008....

So.... does that leave us with Mourinho v Guardiola decided upon one season in prem?

Mourinho won the EL by buying a team more expensive than all the opponents he faced combined. We can all do that.

no you can't. We've all seen how managers buy expensive players but couldn't put a good team together. He had a big budget, so he used it. He would have been severely criticised if he had lost the Europa by not buying that expensive team.

Everything is subjective in terms of who is the better manager. In terms of objective assessment we can go with trophies won. Mourinho won 25 and Pep 21. so far. I suppose we will need the definite counts at the end of their careers to make that final comparison.

I did point out those 25 are over 8 more years.....

My view is simply this. When the chips were down in the real v Barca contest Mourinho went to pepe and total negativity and dirt to try win. For me the guy has no class at all. The thing with the Chelsea Dr showed that.

The thing about Guardiola is he fancies himself as a bit of an intellectual but his actions with tito vilanova were pretty petty. Supposed to be mates but fell out yet when the man had cancer Guardiola reportedly never spoke to him.

Nobodies perfect of course..... but Mourinho is a cheat at heart

In the end Liverpool's team was more costly than Seville' s. We didn't get it done did we....

You are right if mourinho delivered 6th in league, a league cup and lost the Europa and were only in Europa this season he would be under severe pressure

That's why people going with money spent is missing the point. Liverpool is a big club and should be spending more than many of the others. That we didn't spend as much as some others shouldn't be used as an excuse for our lack of success. We chose not to spend the money. We focussed our attention on players that their clubs didn't want to sell.

I note that some rather deluded reds are rubbing their hands with glee at the latest Spain squad.

I read with bemusement that this squad proves Michael Edwards is a genius.

    http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/spor...ews/alberto-moreno-luis-alberto-suso-13855050

Alberto is in the Spanish squad having been a total flop for us. The lad has played 11 games for Lazio and has been picked for Spain.... so this complete waste of time for us proves he can pick a player

Aspas is in too.. another complete flop.

And of course Moreno gets his reward for playing for us for the season so far.

Now it is a friendly based squad to take a look at a few.

However.. my main point is a guy who scouted and brought in guys, who Gerrard described as taking one look at in the dressing room and knowing they'd never make it, is being lauded as a genius

    Great.
