Depends on the thickness of the white bar. I've been hoping for a modern update of the Air Florida kit since we got back to the Prem, so that would be a really nice option. If the white bar is a bit thinner (and that was more a panel than a stripe, shhhh) it could look kinda odd, particularly if the sponsor logo ventures outside the white.

For those on a smartphone using the crappy Not606 app, CBK's avatar shows the Air Florida/Rank Xerox kit.

Yay....!!.... is it time all the weird and wonderful pictures of random saints kits with different manufacturers and sponsors do the rounds.... woop....!!

Did anyone hear or see some adverts on Facebook from a casting agency last week? It was for a shoot at St Mary's on Monday night which turned out to be the filming for the kit launch. They paid 300 people to come to the stadium as fans. Most the fans were in the seats acting as a crowd at a football match, some fans (very few and who had to sign disclaimers) were allowed to the shoot earlier and apparently saw what the new kit is.

I liked the kit from the Championship season, 2011-12. Very traditional Southampton and classy! I contrast, I thought the one with broad white band down the middle with two broad red bands either side, vulgar.

Perhaps it's more its association with the most successful period of the clubs history than it being an especially attractive kit.
Personally I like when we mix things up and give traditional stripes a break every so often

I think with this and a re work of the 76 cup final yellow as the away kit. We could be in for a couple of retro crowd pleasers

Fair point but on a personal level, I am not a great fan of yellow apart from the years when West Brom wore green and yellow stripes. That looked cool. IMO, green and white stripes, black shorts and white socks would look very classy as an alternative kit.

Well you were on pretty safe and traditional ground with the black shorts and white socks. But that's the only real 'classy' part.
