Pretty sexy car that!

Anyone care to do a pecking order with the one day to go, or are you afraid of the banzai lap tomorrow?!

I get the feeling that manor will outdo sauber thus year. Well, one of the manors. Not fast by any stretch of the imagination but hopefully consistent and 'up there'

That bottom-left pic should be their livery. I like it.

My thoughts exactly.

Halo head protection concept tried out by Kimi today.

Not convinced how many lives it will have saved. Would Bianchi survived his crash with the digger where the car went underneath it? Wilson and Surtees Jr died from impacts that landed directly on top of their helmets, so would still be potentially exposed.

Even with Massa's injury at Hungary it's debatable as the part was so small it would have fitted through the gap. So what is it actually protecting against? If it's simply a straight on impact with a large object then fine, but in all other contexts surely there are still too many holes in it for objects to strike a driver?

Am all for safety, but with something like this surely you either go closed cockpit or nothing?

Completely agree with the last sentence. They're making the cars into monstrosities, for a marginal, or even debatable increase in safety. It could possibly have killed Massa, if it had deflected it down an inch at the very least he'd have lost an eye.

On Ferrari, I'm starting to feel a little more optimistic about the season. Ferrari appear to have decent pace. Also Hamilton's comments have been very negative, he's been critical of the new tyres, and seems less enthused with the car than Rosberg does, perhaps its characteristics so far are more suited to Rosberg and we could see a bit more competition within Mercedes this year.

Hamilton does a 1:24.6 on mediums. Accounting for a 2 second delta- is that the equivalent of a 1:22.6 on softs?

Hamilton wants a proper go:

"I feel good in the car, we've not really pushed it to the limit in terms of qualifying laps," said the world champion.

"I've had a couple of fast laps, but in terms of really putting the car on a knife-edge and homing in on the set-up and everything - I don't really know.

"I've done three or four laps in a lower attacking mode in terms of fuel.

"Now it's about trying to understand the car on a knife-edge - that I haven't experienced much.

"So hopefully in the morning I can have a bit of that before the first race."
